please help identify this so i can treat it. 60 gallon tank. 2 clown fish, 3 file fish, and 2 cardinals. all other fish show no signs of this. all tank params are spot on. the file fish is acting completely normal and appetite is good. i have had the file for about a year.

Could be ich or velvet, but I think flukes are a strong possibility as well as they are oftentimes visible on a dark colored fish.
Do the spots appear to be slowly crawling over him?

My bad! (My mind is on other things today.)
I'm not entirely sure what that is, possibly an infection.
Can you post a few more pics of it?
