Finally got my lid after months and it is the wrong size. The light cutouts are an inch off and the over flow is an inch to small so it covers the overflow on my standards issue WaterBox and I can’t put the glass lid back over it. Shoddy work after long delays. The company owner Matt Coddington says it is my fault and refuses to solution the problem saying I am trying to take advantage of him. Right I give him 349 dollars and multiple drawings to scale and emails and I get a lid I can’t use! So who is taking advantage of whom?? @octoaquatics does not stand behind his work and can’t follow his own rendering and refuses to make things right!! Buyer beware!!! I’ll be filing a dispute with PayPal of course also.

Yes, the lights I could slide over lose the symmetry and be left with a bit of a dead space on the light coverage which I was going to do but for that kind of money and the multiple emails and about 4 months of planning it is crazy. However, the overflow box sticks out 4 inches and he only cut the hole for that 3.5 inches and there is no extra acrylic at the edge to cut away to make it fit. Not to mention the thing is so flimsy that it bows in it takes two or three people to be able to place it on the tank bc of you try it lift it on one side only it flops down into the water. Basically the overflow size is the limiting factor for actual usage here. Fact is one email and he basically blamed me instead of offering any solution whatsoever. Not redo not a Redfin not even a partial refund ...nothing. Called me names told me &$@@$ idiots order his lids without any difficulty and that I must be a moron. Meanwhile the drawing I sent him is very specific and correct and his rendering he keeps referring to is the redline which doesn’t include all the measurements. And on top of that he followed about 50 % of all the other measurements correctly. He lacked the focus needed to finish this job correctly and then offered zero customer service other than to blame me.

@dantimdad Should have listened to you and not ordered from him but I was already deep into by the time I mentioned it to you. The guy is just a nasty dude all the way around. I now see him arguing with light manufacturers or suppliers online it really is mind blowing that he offered ZERO solutions. I will certainly steer clear of this “business” for sure. Karma will find him...lol

Bummed to hear about Matt and very disappointed in his response to you. I have had several positive exchanges with him over the years but never ordered anything. Just technical sharing of knowledge and such. I feel bad for both of you :( .

Odd even in the renderings atleast the overflow dimensions are correct, can't see the light ones though. That's pretty frustrating, Sorry that you have to go through this and hopefully things can get resolved eventually...

Updates on the reef!
fallow over. Fish back in with some new additions.
lost during fiasco - three tangs (Achilles, yellow, powder blue). Venusta angel, Marshall fairy wrasse, all died during treatment phase. The other tangs, angels and cardinals survived and actually have grown. Hooked up a UV sterilizer and had it on algae level for a while and now on parasite load. Also quit using socks and have had an I credible growth of pods and my chaeto is finally self sustaining! Thanks @Hemmdog for the tips! Coral are thriving. Here are some pics.

Ok, so I admit it; I've been a lousy member of R2R and a crappy friend. I could give all kinds of excuses/reasons why I went MIA but will save you the agony. Bottom line is I jumped out of the R2R ocean without warning or saying anything to nearly anyone. It was an uncalled for and selfish act. So, I offer my apologies to you, and anyone else, that I had built a cyber-friendship with through this forum. I won't let it happen again.

I think we all get busy. I've made friends with a lot of people on here in real life and end up using the phone to chat more often (maybe too much ;Hilarious ). A lot of the time I don't even notice that I haven't said anything on R2R in a while. Glad to see you're doing well!
