I’ve been looking into the hydor pumps the reviews seem pretty good and they’re really quiet and dc. Sump I believe is a 30g sump I didn’t get the chance to fully clean it today but I will tomorrow and get a good pic too.

Ok ya that’s what I was thinking as well after reading the descriptions on each. My brain is about fried lol no sleep and way to much thinking. To plug bulk head I’m good to just screw caps and stuff on the ends right? Or because it potentially house baddies should I cap and put a plug on the other end?
I would just plug the inside and be done with them.

I've got Reef Octopus Varios 6 (1700gph) for mine. Was running a Varios 4 (1000gph), but got a new pump for closed loop, so putting the 6 in sump and using the 4 to mix salt and as a backup if needed. I'll only be running about 6 ft of total head loss, with the 4 I was running it almost max power, the 6 I should only have to run at about 60-70%

Ya I’m looking at a couple options of pumps right now. But also looking at plumbing options so I’m going to go pick that up today and get the over flow ordered and start on stand hopefully. Daughter decided to come in jump on bed at 11 while I was sleeping and well ya haven’t been back to bed yet lol.

Curiosity what do you think these guys are worth thinking since not running a closed loop I may try to trade the system for pieces I need for my build.
Inline heater I think 500 watts aquanetics my-500. Ocean clean filter don’t know what it’s rated but there are 2 and I have all the plumbing to go with them and a boatload of gates.

Well today was a decently productive day I got practically nothing done I almost got the return lines dry fitted but I’ll be at a standstill until I get my overflow box. I liked the emc ones but with everything I read about the shipping issues I was kinda reluctant and made me go with the marine depot elite medium plus I save a bit that I can put somewhere else. And u fortunately I can’t 100% the return lines because well no pump yet so ya I’m hoping tomorrow I’ll have all the wood to start I. Stand Wednesday. So tomorrow will be organizing the garage and setting up a wood shop. I’ll get pictures of what I have done so far and I’ll snap some pic of my mixing station as well tomorrow.

So I'm sitting here looking at this sump and trying to figure out a good way to set it up because i'm looking at cultivating me some copepods. this will be my first time cultivating pods what will be some of the things to know before converting this sump??? i'll try to get a diagram drawn up of what im thinking for conversion but would love input as soon as I do on what may or may not work

how big would you suggest @najer? this is kinda what I came up with. the last 2 chamber being able to be customized for size. return pump can be housed outside of sump. to give more room for refugium.

I would go small skimmer section and as big a fuge as possible.
