So LiveAquaira.com first tried to just refund me for the male banggai that died and arrived with only 1/2 his first dorsal fin as well as a bacterial infection. So I called them up and the lady said to me that they've refunded for the one banggai and that's all they're going to do. So I asked to speak with her superior. She asked me to hold and after a while she came back on and said they're going to refund the whole order. So they did take care of it but I had to be persistent. I would have been happy with a discount on the remaining fish. As the only reason I would pay $30 per banggai would be because it's paired up with another. But they also shipped the nassarius snails with no heat pack as well as their website screwing up when I checked out and didn't get my whole order. I also had a hi-fin goby in the cart that put me over the minimum for free shipping.

Hopefully the final change to the rockwork, epoxy'd it all down. Pretty happy with it now. Added an actinic led strip that came with a package deal from someone on craigslist. Also upgraded from the cheapo SUNSUN powerheads to some Jebao pp-8's. I was going to also put some pp-4's on the back wall but I'm having to turn down the pp-8's just to make it tolerable for my euphyllia. Dealing with a bit of a cyano issue currently. Here's my thread on that if interested:

My gfci kept tripping since I installed a ground probe. So I figured something was wrong. So I unplugged the ground probe and got the multimeter out and was surprised to see a full 120v ac being leaked into the tank. I wonder if that's why I only see one or two nassarius snails when I feed now and am currently battling cyano, maybe due to 13+ dead snails in the sand?
Anyways, I narrowed it down to the ato.

Got rid of that and made a diy one:
Solid State Relay
Pack of Float Sensors
Extension Cord
Small Plastic Box
12v 2a Adapter

And I just happened to have all of that laying around so that was nice and easy. Well, I had to order the pack of float switches. But I had the rest on hand. And now I've got extra to make another for the frag tank.

Other than that little fiasco the tank has been going well. Still dealing with cyano but I can see the rocks getting more mature and hopefully it will pass soon. Just been vacuuming up as much as possible every day/every other day and reduced my lighting schedule.

Got some more fish in the QT. I got a Randall's Shrimp Goby and two Banggai Cardinals. I just got two cardinals at random and going to watch them and hope I got lucky and got a male and a female. If not and they start to fight I'll remove one and return to store or sell privately and get another and hope for the best. Also grabbed a couple more corals, an orange with blue tip fungia and another frag of some zoas. Looks like a brittle start came in with the zoas too. No pictures of the banggais yet. I've got the lights off today to reduce stress.

I also used some eggcrate to get rid of the gaps from the cords coming out of the display. Came out pretty nice imo.

Parts also came for the rig I'm making to suspend the lights from. Pictures coming on that one.

So a few times now I've caught one of my emerald crabs eating my duncan frag. So I had moved it and started adding some seaweed rubberbanded to a rock in it's place. And when feeding I would also spot feed the large emerald crab some meaty food. Well tonight I came out and caught him eating my favorite torch. So he had to go. He was wrapped around the torch frag so I slowly put a net inbetween him and the rockscape then picked up the torch frag, luckily he stayed attached untill I was able to get the net under it and drop him in.
I was going to put him in the sump but I dont have the fuge up yet so he would just starve in there and it would be a big hassle to catch him again. So I put him in my little 10g coral qt. There is only one frag in there right now and it's on an eggcrate stand that has pvc legs so hopefully we wont be able to climb it. I also threw in a rock with some seaweed rubberbanded to it so hopefully my frag is safe. It's a zoa frag and he seemed to be leaving the zoas alone and going after the lps. I haf no idea this could be an issue but of course now that it happened I find all kinds of threads talking about emeralds eating coral. I was able to identify him as male while I had him in a tupperware. I hope the other two I have in the DT don't give me trouble now. I'll miss him, he was the least skittish of the three and the largest for sure. But he had to go...

I had an emerald crab in my LPS tank before he would be around the corals but never really picked at them. Never had bubble algea either. I got him because there was 1 bubble of the algea and he ate it right away and I never saw any again. He would pick at the bases of some of the coral plugs though.

I've still got two in the DT, they will strip the frag plugs clean but seem to leave the corals alone as far as I can tell so far.

yeah I've never been a fan of emeralds, nasty little buggers imo. I like porcelain and anemone crabs
Sure can be. Lol I was wanting an anemone crab but no nems yet. And when I get one I'll be getting clowns. Will wrasses eat porcelain crabs?

Got some Banggai Cardinals in qt. And a Sapphire Damsel. Also have a Randall's Goby in the HT for a pretty bad bacterial infection but it's looking like he's going to pull through.

Great set up. I only have a DT tank at the moment. No real room for a QT. But I have been thinking about it a lot. My not so local fish store has a great QT process and I have been there when he was dealing with a sick fish he got in. Has multiple tanks. Treats in one then moves the fish and drains the Walter and treats the other tank and keeps that up till the fish is healthy and eating. I know the fish I get from him will be healthy. I will pay a bit more but I think it will be worth it. Prices are just slightly higher than competitors by maybe a buck or 2. Well worth it though I think.

I need to find a shop like that around here! I have two LFS about 15 min away. One is mainly coral with a very small fish section but they seem to be very good. Never any dead fish and a great selection of corals. They have coral frags as low as $5 each and a buy 3 get one free deal. But the other one that is mainly fish has given me some bad advice and there is usually a few dead fish here and there. Still making up my mind about it. There are a couple places further away I've been meaning to check out. I do feel lucky I have a good LFS that specialises in coral near by. My wallet, not so much.

I have 2 LFS. But the one that has the QT is 2 hours away. But my wife likes to go for the drive with me. 1 of the LFS near me is very bad and the other is ok but doesn't QT. And his selection is limited.

Lol and I'm thinking 30min away to the stores I haven't tried is bad. LA is less than 2 hours away. I could drive to vivid aquariums and other places up there. Prolly should be.

If I could I would take the drive down to WWC and a few others in the states but 20 hour drive 1 way for corals might be pushing it. I might do it though if I didn't have to pay $200 to bring them into Canada
