You have another follower...
Nice tank and great lighting upgrade.
Although i went from T5 to full LED, those bulbs are a sure thing for success for our tanks.

Thanks @Janci. So far so good with the lighting. I haven't even noticed a real change in water temperature either, which I'm a littler surprised by.

David,
What a beautiful reef that you and your wife truly have.

What skimmer are you running since the BK?

Thanks, Freddie

Thanks Freddie...I really need to keep this thread updated a little more frequently.

I ended up getting a Vertex Omega 180i skimmer and bought the neck cleaner with it. Took me a week or so to get it dialed in, but so far I love it.

There was nothing wrong with the BK and I will likely end up regretting selling it. But it was just too big for my bio load, especially after the losses. Someday I'll put a few more fish in, but I'm pretty sure the Vertex can handle it.

Thanks for checking in my friend.

I just took a few cell phone pictures for another post so I figured I'd post here as a mini update. Overall the tank is doing great. Fighting a little Cyano at the moment but other than that, all is pretty good. Knock on wood.

This is a little piece of the HS that broke sometime during storm clean up, settled and has grown. Gotta love accidental frags!

After these few month of changing the lighting, could you notice any change in growth and/or colour in the tank?
T5 and Reefbrites are a powerful combination.
How high are these placed over the water level?

The short answer is yes...I have noticed improvements in both growth and color with the T5's. I absolutely love the look of the tank also with the new lighting. I have yet to install the dimming module for the RB's, so they are just on and off at the moment. The lights hang 12" above the water line and can only go lower, not any higher because they are in the canopy.

Well I had the opportunity to spend some time and get the Reef Brite Dimming module hooked up this weekend. After some back and forth, I finally got the Apex programmed properly and it's working beautifully. I ended up dragging out the camera, which I haven't done in quite a while, and grabbed some shots. Still not anywhere near where I would like them to be, but I simply need to spend more time with it. It's just never been a priority I guess. Anyway, here are some long over due, semi-decent shots of the tank:
