Thanks Zach. I'm hoping at some point to get a good picture of the Anthias and the Pintail. They are all just beautiful new additions and are doing great, along with the CBB.
Definitely some pics of that CBB, it's my favorite fish behind the Yellow Eye Kole Tang! :)

I actually got a semi-decent cell phone shot of the CBB. And I agree, they are one of my favorite fish as well.

Talk about attention to detail. It was a long read from day one but worthy of my time! Love the stand, I almost did that with mine but decided to show the bones of the tank. I want to see your plumbing behind those panels! Following along now that I’m caught up.

do I at least get points for creativity?

It's all good man, you should see all my white sticks :p

Most definitely get creativity points my friend. I'm actually hoping to spend some time on the tank this weekend catching up on some long, long over due maintenance, including doing a water test! Despite my neglect and GHA issue (a first for me), everything continues to do pretty well overall.

I was wondering the other day if the loss of my yellow tang a year ago has anything to do with my now noticing the GHA. Maybe it was there before but the YT kept it under control. No way to ever know for sure, but it has crossed my mind.

My favorite trio of YT, PBT and Lawnmower do wonders for me. Anytime I've lost one for one reason or another they get replaced immediately.

Sucks when you put a rock down, don't see the blenny and smush :(

Just happened to notice my wife's tube anemone looking all pretty before bed time. Grabbed the cell phone and took a couple shots. The colony of rastas is also hers. Hey, as long as I keep her stuff happy and thriving, I'm in good shape.

I've had a few people recently request a list of equipment I'm using on this tank, so I thought I would do a quick update with the current equipment running on this tank. Like most everyone else, I have made changes over the years but I haven't updated this build thread appropriately. So here is what working for me...at least right now:
  • Same 120g tank
  • Custom overflow box running what is essentially a Herbie overflow
  • I still use two 4" socks but I'm making them myself now, so no more laundry
  • Trigger Systems 36 Elite sump
  • EcoTech Vectra L1 return pump
  • Two Maxspect Gyre XF250 pumps, one on each of the short ends
  • 36" Giesemann Matrix II 8-bulb T5 Light Fixture, retro fitted with two Reef Brite XHO strips
  • Kessil H160 purple fuge light
  • GHL Dosing pumps (older style)- master and slave units with a total of 7 pump heads
  • Vertex Dosing Containers (3)
  • Finnex 300w heater - doesn't come on often where I live
  • Two BRS clip on fans - one above display and one above sump
  • Tunze Osmolator 3155 ATO
  • 25g Acrylic ATO Reservoir made by me
  • Vertex Omega 180i Skimmer with the self cleaning head unit installed
  • Avast Marine Davie Jones Skimmate Locker
  • Two individiual BRS Deluxe Media Reactors - Carbon and PhosGuard
  • Apex Classic Gold Package with two EB8's - hard wired to router
  • Apex auto feeder - boy is this thing loud
I think that pretty much sums up the current equipment list. If I remember something else, I'll add it to the list.

(lol)
David,
That's a great update.

Did you go from the AI Vega’s on post #1 to the T5's?

Yes Freddie, I switched out the Vega's a while ago for the T5 hybrid. Honestly, I was doing just fine with the Vega's but I was looking for a little more coverage (less shaded areas) and got a great deal on the Giesemann, so I pulled the trigger. I did keep one of the Vega's for my QT/Frag tank for old time sakes... lol.

How's the Copperband been doing?

Actually it is doing great. At first it was only eating the blood worms it was "trained" on, but now it eats what ever I throw in there. It's fat and happy and so is its owner.

That's awesome. What's your thoughts on if I got one for my 125? I've never had one before.

They are probably one of my favorite fish so I would say go for it. They are however difficult to get eating. If at all possible, see if you can find one that is already eating. If at a LFS, make them feed it.

Live black worms are not an option for me, but I've read they work well. The gentlemen who QT'd this one for me got it eating the blood worms so that's what I started with and actually still use as a part of my regular feedings. However, this one now eats everything.
