A rare update to this thread. In the last update, I noted the tank had been neglected and there is nothing to update there. In fact, if anything it had gotten worse...to the point I had even stopped cleaning the glass regularly. Just enough that I could check in on the fish while feeding them.

Thankfully my bride finally put her foot down and said clean it, make it look nice again, or get rid of it. So I decided to spend about four to five hours yesterday doing one thing - cleaning the glass as the first step to recovery.

So I'll share a few pictures not to demonstrate anything in particular. Not to show growth or colonization of corals. Not to show off any fish or inverts. These pictures are merely to show that you can once again see inside the tank somewhat clearly...lol.

In an effort to keep this updated, I figured I would update a couple of things. First some sad news. I lost my Melanurus Wrasse a couple weeks ago. I had it for about 5 1/2 years or so and it wasn't a puppy when I got it. I figured it was about 2+ years old when I acquired it from an established tank. So I'm guessing it lived a good life and it was just tired. Funny thing is I never noticed any remains of any kind, so the CUC did its job.

Everything else seems to be doing well. Lights were about to go out so I grabbed the phone and took a few pictures of the fish that were willing to cooperate. The blue green chromis is the last of the five I started with years ago. Lost three due to natural causes (aka their "friends" killed them) and I re-homed one that turned out to be a real jerk.

LOL Lee...that looks awesome and I don't mind at all. I just shot it with the phone and uploaded it. Moving forward, I shall send all photos to you prior to posting.

And I completely agree with...I love that fish too. It's got such a terrific temperament and it loves the camera, unlike its friends.

I was thinking of maybe offering a touch up service to R2R? Free of course. Might help a few people out. I am not saying I am the best, but would be more than willing to help for peoples favorite shots.

Funny thing is I have the whole Photoshop and Lightroom suite, I'm just too lazy to use it!

Well another three months went by and another three months of growth on the glass...lol. Spent a few hours today cleaning up...again...and did a little maintenance. Really need to take better care of the tank. It amazes me things just tick along even with the negligence. A before and after picture that doesn't really show how dirty the glass was...lol.

It looks great! I'm pretty sure that the fish and corals don't mind if the glass isn't clean so I think you're good if you choose to only clean it for company! :)
