Hi all! So new to the forums and starting my first Saltwater Aquarium! I’m excited to get into it! I will be setting it up in my bedroom in my DC basement apartment. I bought my Waterbox Aquarium a few days ago and I am waiting for it to come in the mail. I’m really excited to get started, but I’m going to be patient with this tank to make sure I can make it as smooth sailing as possible. Here is what the tank looks like:

I also had to look fora stand for my new tank and I ultimately settled for this off of amazon:

My fish list that I plan on going with is:
1. Longfin Phantom Clowfish
2. Black Cap Basslet
3. Black Combtooth Blenny
4. Biota, Male Dragonet
5. Clown Goby, Green
Possibly 6. 4 Line Wrasse or Pink Streak Pygmy Wrasse

I’m still figuring out Corals and invertebrates, I know I want a wall of Neon Green Star Polyps, Electric Blue Hermits, and Emerald Crabs.

As for equipment and such for the tank I got so far are:
AI Prime 16HD Reef coming with the tank.
Cobalt Neo 100w Heater
Hydor Koralia Wave Pump 425
CPR Aquatic AquaFuge 2 Hang-on Refugium
Aquatic Life RO/DI 75 gpd
Flipper Nano Magnet Cleaner
2 digital water thermometers
Aichose Refractometer
Salifert Magnesium and Calcium test kit
Tropic Marin Essentials Test Kit
Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter Dry Rock Bacteria Starter Kit
Dr.Tim's One & Only Saltwater Live Nitrifying Bacteria - 2 oz
Caribsea Liferock Shapes 20lb
Caribsea Liferock Shrooms, 2pk
Caribsea Arag-Alive Special Grade
Tropic Marin Pro Reef Salt.
5 Gallon Bucket
17 gallon storage tub for water

I look forward to sharing more of my aquarium journey as I get started! Also, any recommendations for things, I am all ears, the more the help the better. Thanks!

I got my rocks in, I got surprisingly a lot so with my favorite pieces I started setting up an aquascape for when my tank does come in. This is what I have so far.

Still waiting on my aquarium to ship. Waterbox is waiting on more lighting equipment to be shipped to them before sending me my aquarium. So decided to mess around with the aquascape again. I went with a lower on this aquascape. That way fish have more room to swim above and also, I like that this rock setup has more room for coral to grow. Also the Star Trek nerd in me keeps seeing it kinda shaped as a Starship haha. I also got my stand in, so I set it up in my room, in a nice place. I really look forward to when I get my aquarium in!

Has your tank arrived?
It hasn’t yet. It hasn’t been shipped yet. I asked they said they are waiting on aqua illumination to send them more lighting units to ship out and that was 3 weeks ago. So just waiting til then. I just bought a brute trash bin, I plan on starting to cycle my rocks in the next few days to go ahead and get the tank cycling ready.

So still waiting for my Tank to come in, I basically have everything I need to start the tank, but the tank itself. Not sure when it’s coming in, so til then I bought a 32 gallon brute van to start cycling my rock and have water ready for when it gets here. I put 25 gallons of RODI water in and Dr Tim’s One and Only bottle. With some ammonia to start a fish less cycle. Here is hoping to get my tank easily started once it gets here.

So my Tank finally came in! I set it up and got the rock and sand inside. I like the way it looks! Just getting things started cycling. In the next couple of weeks I’ll get the refugium setup and then hoping at the end of September my parameters will be good enough for my first firsh, I decided to go with the Green Clown Goby first.
Here is a couple of pics:
