So I have been out of the game for about 5 years before purchasing this tank. Now I will tell you I have had this tank for about 6 ish months by now, so I am going to post how it all started, and where I currently am at this moment, maybe some bumps along the way too lol.

So to not force you to go through everything I will post I will update with upgrades as I go. Right now for gear, the tank is pretty stacked.

Radion g3-pro w/Reeflink
Sicce 1.5 Return Pump
Tunze 3152 ATO
2x Nero 3
2x InTank Media baskets ( filter floss on top of both, chemi blue in the left and original media bag, right side middle is media gems and bottom is original media)
InkBird ITC-306A controller
Cheap 200W heater I can't remember the brand of, but it works lol
Cheap Fluval Skimmer (works...not well, will upgrade eventually)
40lbs of live sand and about 55lbs of live rock(may be overboard, but whatever)

This was a little over 24 hours after setting up. I bought pre cycled rock and then dropped in a bottle of fritz turbo 900 and let it sit for a day, and testing was perfect.

Original rock scape didn’t last long lol so I quickly changed it up. Added a cheap power head that is now in a 5g mixing bucket for salt hahaha. Added some clean up crew, clown, sebae anemone ( big mistake later on tell you hwat! )

Ok so about 2 weeks in I bought a radion, and moved the tank to the corner of my living room. I made a huge coral order from a place on Facebook and forgot the stock light wouldn’t do sps so I had to quickly make this DIY light mount lol.

Fast forward a month or so from kick off, I have stacked the tank decently and love how AB+ looks during feeding time

Added more live rock for corals, and bought a par meter and laptop for the tank and took some initial measurements to see where my PAR was.

my anemone melted for some weird reason a few months into the journey, had a massive phosphate spike and nitrates over 50ppm and I did not know what was happening. Killed most my sps as well which isn’t fun for anyone.

I really like your rock work. I have a few easy sps using the stock lights in my tank that seem to be doing okay. Do you get enough coverage with just the one radion?

To me no and yes. No because I want SPS all across the tank, but yes because the outer edge PAR is half of the center so I can put my chalices and other low to medium par corals and they do well. But if I wanted even par I would need a 2nd radion.

Tank pic.jpg

Little update. I have recently added a doser for 2 part, AB+ and magnesium. Also since December I have added about 40 new coral frags to the tank, takes up both frag racks pretty much and all the rock work with very little room to spare.

Be careful with the nirvanas, they can quickly get out of control.
Zoas are both def going into the wifes 15g, I just wanted them to sprout a few, in 2 weeks I got 2 new utter chaos and 4 new nirvanas lol, her 15g is going to be a huge zoa garden pretty much, already 15 dif types in there.
