Last nite I finally got my Alkatronic after a long wait. Today going oversea so will start playing with it next week
Nice:)
Batch2 or upgraded batch 1? No difference between these , just curious:)
If batch 1 do not forget to upgrade with our kit.

Regards
Jonas

in batch two, the bottom two pumps are markedly smaller than the top two. Plus it should be very very quiet. If the pumps look like this, you do not need an upgrade kit. If the pumps are about the same size, but different colors, you need the upgrade kit.

Are there any documents available describing how the integration with Apex work? Is it as simple as using a pH input and renaming?

I run a calcium reactor and ideally would like to use the Alkatronic to control the feed pump on the reactor. Is that a good idea or am I asking for problems?

Yep, it’s just a BNC out from the Alkatronic to any available pH port on the apex, or PM1.

Are you looking to control the pump based on alk values and control it with the Apex? That could work. But if you’re trying to use the Alkatronic to control the feed pump by using the Alkatronic D pump, bad idea.

For the record, I use the Alkatronic through a PM1 and control the CO2 solenoid with it on my apex. I don’t use the D pump (normally for dosing kalk, or the like) at all.

I was planning on doing something similar to what you are doing... either control the CO2 solenoid or turn the reactor feed pump on/off depending on Alk levels.

Honestly, I'm not sure what the best way to integrate the Alkatronic and my Apex. I like the idea of using it to control the CO2 solenoid though.

Thanks for the feedback!

For what it's worth, I like to keep the feed pump running just to keep water moving through the carx. Controlling the solenoid has worked out pretty well fwiw

I think that's the way I'll set mine up too. Seems the simplest and I agree that keeping the water moving through the reactor is probably a good thing.

How frequently do you test?

I have it at every 4 hours, because reagent is cheap when you do the math. That being said, I sort of know how my system runs now, so I'm planning to move down to every 6 hours just to make sure I can react to anything unusual.

It's tough to go for the Alkatronic with the Trident coming out. Maybe I'm just greedy.

Good luck with the Trident and having a single pump to test everything. Worse design ever. And if the life of that pump is like their doser, be prepared to replace more than you like (at least from what I have read about it) oh forgot also be ready to spend some serious dough on reagent.
