It’s been quite a year.Last October I started a small saltwater project with a Biocube 16 LED. A few months later I wanted more room so I went with an IM 30l Nuvo Pro. I loved the tank but realized I needed more room as my coral buying got a little out of hand. Here’s my last tank (and probably what I should’ve started with. Did the move in about 4 hours. So a run down on equipment :
‘The tank itself
Reefbreeders Photon 2 32”
‘Nero 5 Wave Circulator
possibly adding a Tunze 6040 Wave Circulator
Auafuge 2 medium refugium with chaeto
Finnex 300 watt titanium heater with controller and sensor.

Livestock:
2 Ocellarus Clowns
2 Yellowtail Damsels
Orange Spot Blenny
Slpendid Dottyback
2 Bangaii Cardinalfish
and a Marndarin which I haven’t seen since putting it in the new tank.

Corals include
18 Gonis
5 torches
3 Frogspawn
1 Octospawn
2 Hammers
4 Favia/Favites
Small colony of Duncans
1 Leather Coral
2 Stylophora
Shaggy Milli Acro
6 Montis
Birds Nest
Cynarina
Small Micromussa

3 Bubbletip Anemones
2 Peppermint Shrimp
1 Pistol Shrimp
Assorted Brittlestars
Pencil Urchin
Assorted Snails
A few small red mithrax crabs

Now a bit of unfortunate news. I didn’t notice the heater I was using in the holding bin had a short in the line somewhere. Some of the corals might not make it but most seem to be bouncing back from the move ok. And all the fish are fine My pincushion urchin is probably dying, I’ll have to pull it from the tank most likely later today. Here’s a pic that I just took.

Latest update. All the sps died(I assume from getting zapped). Lost my oldest frogspawn . Upset with myself, didn’t notice the problem until it was too late. Fish are still fine . My Gonis seem to be slowly recovering as well as my torches in particular.

Things are definitely looking better. Torches definitely look a lot happier. The majority of my Gonis appear much better. And my Duncans are starting to open up. Might still lose a frogspawn and hammer . And at least 2 of my 3 btas are looking much better with

So, it’s been I week. Lost my octospawn a hammer(they’ve never liked me very much) and a Goni (one of my cheapest ones, but still was pretty pastel green). Amazingly my stylocoeniella has survived and the rest are starting to look MUCH better especially my Gonis . I’ve been using AB+ and RG for the corals. Plus Nanocode A and B . Have also added small doses of Reef Plus and Seachem iodide. Overall it looks like the bleeding (figuratively ) has pretty much stopped. And oh yes, since I added a bunch of new sand with my old, I’ve got a bit of an ugly phase going on. Looks like it’s time to think about supplementing what cuc I've got soon. Here’s latest pics I took this morning….

Well things definitely getting ugly. Especially on the sand. But my coral is starting to look much better. One torch still retracted quite a bit, but is still alive. Hope it survives, it looks really nice when extended.

2 weeks in now. My NY Knicks torch faded away :worried-face: and my cynarina that looked like it was going to make it started areceding from its skeleton badly . On the positive side 16 Gonis are looking good with some being happier in the new tank . My remaining torches and frogspawn along with my one hammer are starting to look much happier. My BTA are all looking pretty good tho one has an interesting homeat the bottom in the rockwork. As far as the tank in general, it‘s needing a good vacuuming and I want to get another urchin or possibly 2 for the tank. And a bunch of general cuc as well. Looking into a sifting goby but we‘ll see. Here’s the latest pics

Well, today I got a surprise. A favia that I left in cause it still showed it’s colors popped a couple polyps today. The remainder of my corals continue to be doing well also. My sole Blasto had the main body die but it’s got several daughters that are growing around the sides. And my favites colony is crazy happy.

Well, a quick up date. I’ve got bryopsis all over, probably since I’ve been stuck with tap water for top offs (living in an apartment I don’t feel comfortable playing around with a RODI setup) . I’m going to see about using distilled water since that worked pretty well in my 30 . Also dealing With red cyano, but so far manual removal has been pretty successful. Have also changed ratios for less white light and a shorter cycle with lights on. Here’s a pic I took today of the tank. The only coral that’s problematic is the glitter bomb, always temperamental.

New shots from today. Swapped the Tunze 6040 for my Nero 5. Debating using the 6040 on the opposite side. Heavy cleaning of rockwork and sand. Still fighting bryopsis and cyano, but feel like I’ve at least been able to make some headway. Still will probably do a round of chemiclean. And coraline algae has come in. Most likely seeded from the refugium.

Thanks, the tank itself is great. I love IM tanks myself. Love to see your setup if you would
