As started in the build section, I have created a tank in memory of my mother, who passed on January 30, 2020. The tank has been up and running for a month now. So I have moved it over to this forum. The tank is a 265 gallon with a custom stand and canopy. I have a 3 compartment 125 gallon refugium downstairs. I promised I would post monthly pics. Here are the tank pics under MH white. Actinic pictures later.

Some more pictures
I’m sorry for your loss VA. Can you give us some background on why the setup is a memorial setup? Was she a reefer?
No she was not a reefer. Whenever she came over she would sit and stare at the tank. Always commenting on how beautiful the tank was. So. I want to make it beautiful to remember her.

Update on tank. Had a small setback Friday. Suddenly my rabbit fish decided he liked the taste of zoas. He devoured every zoa on the tank, including the new zoas I had ordered and the existing zoa garden in the center of the tank.

Needless to say, he is going to be removed this week and returned to the LFS. I him for 2 months and everything was fine. Then bam. Mowed the zoas down. Picked the plugs clean.

So I will have to reestablish the garden and I am adding a little more rock scaping for some additional room for corals.

Wish me luck.

Will post new picks of progress in July.

Love you mom. Miss you.

July update.

Been an interesting month. The tank has been up and running for 2 months. The tank is doing very well only lost one acro in the set up.

My zoas are another story. My rabbit fish suddenly developed a taste for zoas. He proceeded to devour every zoa in my tank, the tanks on my rack and on my rocks.

Needless to say he had to go. My LFS, Capital Aquarium, graciously removed him and brought new zoas over. The zoas are on the rack growing, before being set.

I have also added some amazing acroporas from @therman. They acclimated for a month on the rack. These corals are absolutely gorgeous. They have become my prize corals. These corals have been set in prominent places in the tank.

I have also started automatically dosing with my trident. I have also added reef roids and acropower.

These have really helped my corals.

I have also upgraded to a MP 40 for better flow and increased to a MP 24 return pump for better circulation.

Been a busy month.

Pictures will be posted next week after once I get some time.

Here are some July pictures of the tank. Now running for 2 months. Growth is good. Some minor setbacks described above, but tank is doing well. I have not replanted the zoa garden yet. Letting the zoas grow on the rack to make sure they are hardy.

These pictures were taken with a Galaxy S10 phone with a polylab lens. First time using this lens. Feedback on the pictures would be greatly appreciated.

All pictures taken under actinic lighting. White lighting pictures coming soon.
