Wife is game for it, as it is in the fish barn. Only condition is that my bonuses pay for it. That’s how we roll her bonuses are whatever she wants and mine are for whatever I want lol.

I am game for it, as it is only 1 tank, I can divide it up with egg crate if I want to and it reduces the amount of equipment as a whole. 3 large frag tanks setup is 3 of everything. I can just combine lights and then consolidate down to a single return, single closed loop pump and single skimmer. Less maintenance also lol.
Sounds like a great plan.

If I go with the FX4 on this I will definitely have to throttle back with the output valve. Too much flow. If I run down to a small sump with just live rock small skimmer and return pump, I'll just size the pump appropriately. Thoughts between the two?
Mine will have tons of turn over with return into pvc pipe and outlets directed to floor against eachother as well as dead spots. Ill have 3 x as much overflow back to sumps just in case. Cant hurt with too much turnover and flow and water movement just have to be smart on how to get there. With shrooms anyway.
I like the pvc re direction in first tub. I have a 600 pump on that tub turned down to about 500 and you wouldn't even know. Tub only holds 22 gallons lol. More return + overflow = Less stagnation, crystal clear water, proper aeration and tons less nuisance algae around here.

Table #1 is pretty much configured like this already but this is how my new build will go. I'll end up hiding most of pvc with racks and probably black wier box. I want mine working for itself.
Table #1 has pretty much 0 nuisance algae in it at this point. Super clean and its only half as efficient as it can be.
All my tables will have own return as well.

Super interested in seeing what my ph is doing. I tried to seal room with window open and exhaust fan but lowered my ph.
Also need to figure out proper air exchange. What are u doing in fish barn @Eagle_Steve? @fishguy242
I have a combo co2, humidity and temp monitor on the way.

Crazy. In having serious issues keeping my ph above 7.6 with room sealed and small exhaust fan. Without it sealed around 8.

What do you do for fresh air or how do you dispose of co2 in room?

Ok so on to the fun stuff now.
Ended up rinsing and soaking 2x16lb bags of carib sea course live sand and plating the bottoms of 2 tables. 1 bag/ table worked out awesome.
Broke up about 15lbs of crushed .5-3" coral and began to aqua scape by littering the bottom of the tables with the crushed coral to give it more definition.
As well as began removing shrooms from plugs and gluing them to some of the bigger pieces of rock to keep them in place. For when the mexican turbos come through like 6 foot whirling dervishes and try to rearrange things on me I'm one step ahead! I've found some of my biggest shrooms pulled out of the racks and dragged across the tables and flipped over in crevices. So I'm securing everything.
Also using some of the really big pieces of rock to build little caves for shade.
I'm finding some of my shrooms cant get enough light but some of the not so much.
My wife thinks it's funny I'm getting all crafty gluing and building rock caves and stuff but there is a little method to my madness I guess.
Plus it's fun and she has been helping alot!
Still a long way to go and tons of work but it had to be done these shrooms are starting to settle in and move around on the racks and I've already tore a cpl and had to cut a cpl out of the racks.
This surprisingly also allowed me to use more of the 12 sq. ft. of table space I'm working in. And get some of the more light sensitive shrooms into the corners.
I can still move them around.
Plan is to take the babies and put them in frag racks as they drop them.

Anyhow check it out.
Stark contrast to go from this mess-

It stayed clean looking like that for about a week. Been battling the nastiest of nasties letting my rodi go to long.
Ended up taking all that back out and putting racks back in and proper flow through tables. Tons of changes since then.

Thank you and welcome to shroom show its just coming together now:)

I've been seriously considering a window ac with dehumidifier and probably the way I may go with it.
I want to see what co2 is doing in room when I seal it. I cant think of any other reason why ph would drop when I seal room other than co2?

It is a mini barn, so not too sealed. I have a fresh air capable air conditioner that either runs ac or fan all year long. Heat is a natural gas heater and all is ran by a ranco controller.

The there is a swirly vent with a valve that the ranco controls. If humidity gets above 45% it opens up and vents through the roof. Closes shut at 30%. It has only opened a few times in the past year, as I am always in an out of here.

Ph in all the tanks stays at about 8.2-8.3. As there is always fresh air being pushed in.

If I had to do it again, I would get an all in one unit and am actually looking at something like that now for when I burn this building down in the back field and buy a new one lol.

Maybe I'm thinking this too hard man. Maybe I need to upgrade my little skimmer for huge skimmer in sump 2. Skimmer lines are ran outside. Ive never seen my ph truly higher than 8 on a good day. Maybe 8.1 but can't tell with api test kit.
Then maybe a combo ac unit with vent like you have.
Idk what to do but I have to do it soon!

Now that I'm following along,... I have a window unit with a dehumidifier in my fish room and its the only way to go!

This ac has outside air vent, so it can mix fresh air with the cool air. And wifi with basic room monitoring maybe 250$ for 10x12 room running on eco

And this dehumidifier runs on eco and keeps the moisture right the ac alone doesn't cut it, to make it perfect, and its wifi also for basic room monitoring

No fancy apex but you get some monitoring and ability to change Temps and humidity of the room from the app.

So this is a combo ac and dehumidifier or separate dehumidifier?
Separate units sorry the picture of the window ac was just to show they make them with outside vent.

Sorry OP 4 drifting off your topic, I'd love to see some updated photos of your setup!

Your all good. This is the kind of stuff I need in thread lol. I've got to do something and leaning towards what you have done. Too hot to run with open windows no matter how much fresh air I pump in. Not to mention the 5 gallons a day evap. Not to mention its doing nothing for co2 and ph.
I'll try and get pictures tonight. Its pretty much the same minus the crushed coral and a bit more flow. Think I added an ato and upgraded my rodi, built a cpl algae turf skimmers. Stiff like that haha
