10 4 thanks for heads up need to get a cpl plugs cleaned up.@LRT get that algae under control bud. Neptunes (At least in my experience) are not strong fighters and prefer to kill algae by melting into a goo.
What kind of coral is it anyway? Going to be awesome to see what color/kind of cloves pop out of this big oneSCORE..very cool..
No I'm not sure at all honestly. More like clove looking star polyps. The one with green polyps looked alot like the one thats getting color back now before the polyps popped out. Dunno what these 2 corals are though.first one looks like brain/favia? second not sure, you sure clove??
Thanks man I was thinking possibly goni or alve for green polyps.1st one pretty sure true brain family..2nd ?? alveopora ,poss goni ??? not sure, but nice
sympodium. This gulf live rock is incredible man. Same rock I found the pink sponge on has a huge coral I thought was dead but is most likely coming back to life
8 months in sump totally white out.
This one looked the same way when I pulled it out of sump now it has green cloves all over it.
I would've guess goni only because its polyps extend from a hard shell. It is pretty cool hasnt grown much i really wouldn't have considered it an aggressive or nuisance grower. Seems like it would take forever to cover the rock its on lolsympodium.
I like it. others don't. aggressive grower.
this is a louzy pic, but it's my first sympodium. alveopora is to the left.I would've guess goni only because its polyps extend from a hard shell. Nice. How fast did your first sympodium encrust and grow? I don't think mines grown at all besides polyps filling out.this is a louzy pic, but it's my first sympodium. alveopora is to the left.
this is the one I just got from Cherry Corals.
I had weird things going on back then. things were dying in the order they went in to the tank. I believe it was aluminum toxicity from the ceramic blocks I had in the sump. since removing them and doing weekly water changes I haven't lost anything. so I lost that sympodium and 2 others. I also lost all 4 alveopara.Nice. How fast did your first sympodium encrust and grow? I don't think mines grown at all besides polyps filling out.
Huh thats crazy man I'll have to keep an eye out. I'm going to check it out in dark. I wouldn't imagine that could happen. It appears to be a nice tame little hard coral with soft polyps that doesn't do much haha.I had weird things going on back then. things were dying in the order they went in to the tank. so to answer your question it didn't. I just got the Cherry Coral one last month.
but here's something strange. where that first sympodium was I have a carpet of tiny blue cloves. they didn't come in on anything else. and they are expanding quite quickly. you can see them in this pic.
