She's a new tank, I started her in January as a 20G.
In May, I upgraded/ transferred to the 36G because all of my freshwater fishes crossed over the rainbow bridge when I was out of town one day.
Backstory: I'm 28 and I've always had freshwater fishes, and finally decided to go for it.

Cycled in like 2.5 months, waited to add fish until it was through and added 2 juvenile clowns, a true ocellaris Nemo and some "false percula" whatever with a janky dorsal. I also have 2 cleaner shrimps and a bunch of trochus snails...edit: 1 cleaner shrimp now

Live rock:
25 pounds of Caribsea life rock: 4 shapes, 1 arch
1.5 pounds of rock rubble....and now I have literally a tank full of aiptasia
not sure how much sand in the sand bed, which is full aiptasia and cyano

Obviously I have a cyano issue, other issues include: no sump (yet), so much aiptasia

ok thanks for your time!!!!

Ugh I have 2 led strips on top and just one powerhead, I really need to upgrade. Also recently added the arch and I think it’s blocked a good bit of the flow since the slime came after adding the arch

Ita possible. They to move the powerhead around. Or maybe add another from the other side. Itll make more turbulent flow. Also are you using RO/di water?

Starting with this same tank myself.

That’s a bummer about the silica. What do you think the cause is?

Good luck!

I used to have white LEDs on my SW tank and it caused A LOT of cyano. Try and upgrade your light if possible, and use some ChemiClean (use as instructed) to get rid of it. Or just use the chemiclean, but the cyano will most likely come back
