I have a clean out port. I was able to use a sink snake and unplug it. Nasty black algae chunks came out followed by water. Explains why the Evaporator was freezing from the bottom up I suppose. And why the inside was always wet.
You will get more condisate if the A coil is dirty. there's another fin filter right above or below the blower depending if you have an updraft or down draft system. If this gets dirty just as bad as a coil. You'll have to pull the blower to get to it. While your at it you can clean the blower.

Every year I pull apart and clean it

Yeah. I cleaned the blower fan last year and probably need to clean it again. I didn't want to spend anymore time on the roof tonight. Cleaned the Evaporator coils tonight. I didn't remember seeing a coil under the fan when I had it out last time though. I'll check when my friend comes over later this week with the freon and clean the fan again at that time.

The unit is a roof unit with a heat pump in the attic (I believe). The blower motor is up against the Evaporator coils and I believe it pushes down and then right. Or does it pull from down and push through the Evaporator coils?

Rain was a flop, mist at most, visible cloud cover looks like a good chance of breaks in the cloud cover... ;)

In the attic? No bueno.
Basement. Once you pull blower you have to get inside and look up. You will see what I was talking about

Red arrow is where there's another set of fins. My system has it. Others may not

Ahhh... Yeah mine is different. It's a big box on the roof. The blower fan is right against the evaporator coils. That's what I cleaned last night. The heat pump I guess just runs through my system backwards so I'm not sure what's in the attic - maybe nothing and I'm thinking of my parents old house with a gas furnace and air handler in the attic... I try to stay out of attics here - they get hot.
