Hmmm... that’s pretty interesting, because over the course of the past 12 days that I was in PA, I hiked over 40 miles up Hawk Mountain. My knees, do indeed disagree with your statement...
We're all super impressed.

So do you run that and a refugium or just the ats?
Just ATS

We had a heck of a time keeping a refuge going.

We ran into so many water quality issues at the beginning it was frustrating.

By the time we got it sorted out our sump was home for the meat corals and there was no room for a fuge. Thought of getting an external like paxbellum but @LRT was going this route and I followed.

@sp1187 @Eagle_Steve @danieyella I believe all run them as well.

You think water quality was due to fuge?

My only concern with no fuge is no pods for the mandarins

No we live in the country and we're trying to use our well. We spent about 10k getting a new home filter going and the guy used the wrong ones. He didn't test for certain things and it was a s h I t show.

We live on a small island and only 2 people work on water systems in the area.

We can not get a refund so we basically have to use this one until it runs its course so we don't waste 10k.

Other guy won't touch someone else's work.

Companies from the main land charge an arm and a leg just to come to the house for inspections.

Hooked up an extra 7 stage and still had issues.

Now we buy our water.

In a few years we will replace all with a proper system.

Pros and cons living in a place as such ;)

This, I love the idea but I do think about my pod population so sticking with refugium.
We also have a pair of mandarins and at first were worried but...pods go everywhere and we can't keep them off the glass quick enough hahah

So it is possible to keep a healthy pod population without a refugium.

I may look into an in the sump version of a ATS (I don’t have room for an external) and I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before
