To be honest, I’ve seen tanks filled up and fish added in a minute later. If you know what you’re doing, it’s doable. SPS in a new tank Day 1 is something I can’t/wouldn’t do.

treatable ,once you hit the 3-4000 gallons of reef to tend envy is gone work has arrived ,not work if you love it

This is how we used to do things in the 90's. Add live rock, add fish, trust the live rock, test often.

Back then there was no question that live rock had the supporting bacteria to allow your tank to thrive, it was from wild ocean... it just worked.

Back then there was no question that live rock had the supporting bacteria to allow your tank to thrive, it was from wild ocean... it just worked.

In the 90’s I was a broke teenager. I used to take buckets of ocean water, caught my own fish and tossed in my tank. I had live rock and everything was great.

My first was a 29 gallon with 40lbs of rock, all purple and squirmy with life. A single maroon clown, coral banded shrimp, two peppermint shrimp, one trachy, and one mushroom rock... I loved that tank, everything was so simple back then

If it's acrylic you can fix it with a square rod and some acrylic bond. It'll look ugly, but it'll hold water, you're just adding a corner.
