Its not always necessary to snap off ive had them not heal back but I've seen it a few times now and don't want to wait and see lol. On a flat disc surface you do have better chance of getting clean cut through the flesh but if little piece is left attached they can and will heal back or end up a blob that wanted to be a baby that mom melts back to her haha
I ran the blade over it like three times hopefully it’s cut all the way through
