I am so jealous a fish I've wanted for a long time.Homie came out for a peek but hasn't committed to life beyond the bowl yet.
I just dumped in 5,000 pods yesterday. I don't think her resolve will hold long.

my first tank 12 gallon bookshelf tank 36 inch long. Going to plumb to main sump and do algae .
Probs 3/4 inch gate , one hole full siphon with strainers .
One return with a small pump. No overflow box. Wanting to do this one on a budget.

That sounds like a recipe for disaster. If you tune a full siphon at any point, it will be static. Your pump is not. Any variation between pump and draining will mean a higher or lower level. This is why a Herbie has an e drain and a Durso does not. A full siphon with no ability to increase the drainage is a bad ideaYou saw this right

2 holes sorry. 1 on full slightly lower than the... 2nd with the gate valve. For going the box. I think.
