i have never shipped before...called checked into fex ed "get to asap" was 110$ from me to a houston zip for 5 lbs just for a idea ,would leave me3;00 pm arrive 830 am today icheck iowa @Erinpic,sorry mykeyboard is screwing upneed a kid asap!!!

I ran into this problem when I shipped corals to @TriggerFinger a few months ago. I decided to do 2-day shipping and was able to reduce the price from $140 to $36. Everything arrived alive except some mushrooms. I suspect the mushrooms didn't have enough water for a 2-day ride. This isn't a good idea though if temperatures are too hot or too cold.

I don’t understand how people are shipping on here for $40-$60. It doesn’t make sense to eat the shipping cost when you’re not selling super expensive frags. Do that many people really have personal or business FedEx accounts??

Apparently the large vendors on R2R get huge shipping discounts due to volume. And we hobbyists get gouged for occasional shipping.

Frank, look into FINISHIP. There was a thread on here about a month ago that said they are able to ship cheaper through Fedex and UPS by lumping everyone together and getting the volume discount. It's worth trying IMO.

I run T5s with a small led supplement, iphones hate blue leds.
