one of mine cracked a nail training today. :(
mani/pedi tomorrow.
Maple split one of her nail length wise up to the quick. They had to sedate her to cut it. And she stayed bandaged for a week or so. Hardest week of that dogs life

Oh I didn’t know she split it. Untill I noticed her licking that paw more. She didn’t limp acted like nothing was wrong. But then tried to hide her paw from me when I said let me see, she tucked it underneath herself and gave me her other paw

It's very dense. Almost looks like a sponge. I have seen "red hair algae" similar to this.

I can’t remember the exact name of it, but we call it poof ball algae lol. It is a type of red turf algae, but not invasive like normal turf algae. My tangs would have eaten that is a second flat lol.

Thanks, there isn't much of it yet but I will try some in the display later. ;)

Is it similar in structure (you may have to google) cotton candy alage, but the strands are thicker? Look at that and let me know. If it is, then it’s ok. If it is super fine strands like cotton candy algae, it can be invasive. Still eaten by tangs, but no herbivores, but it goes nuts.

I don’t think what you have is the crazy invasive type. If it was, you would have already seen poof balls all over the rocks.

Just so many variations of macro, it is hard to ID unless right in front of me lol.
