I wanted to get a nikon d3500 and my husband said it's garbage. :(
The D3500 is OK, more of an entry level camera. The Z50 is an all around awesome camera that is fully weather sealed. (More of an outdoor photography camera) The Coolpix P1000 is also one of the best.

Naturally both of these are very expensive, but you get what you pay for I guess. :)

I need one for under water. I'm sure that won't be cheap

You do not need underwater. Good camera and a porthole. Like the one Avast Marine sells. That is how 99% of what looks to be underwater is shot. It also allows for LEDs and T5 bulbs to not be seen in a reflection.

Simon ,suggestions on a camera??

The 3500 is a good camera but if you want to get serious you need something like my Nikon 5600 that can shoot raw files as well, this is low range raw file production but is pretty good, the sky is the limit if you have the funds, whatever you get use it in full manual mode from the start and remember you will get loads of rubbish pics that will be too dark or too light, just delete and remember to empty your recycle bin, my mentor makes my pics look average. ;)

I.m considering selling these. $500 for the body, $5000 for the lens. :)

So very impressive. No joke! Very professional. Way too powerful for what I would want to do. At the time.

Edit: welding photo is my favorite. Takes me down memory lane

My racks every morning after conch and turbos rearrange everything!
Check out the extension on this goni though. Put just a tiny bit more flow on them.
Note to self. No you can't destroy pulsing xenia in too much lamp. They just grow MOAR faster.
Think I may frag that slimer down and glue all the pieces together at base.
