You just got KPA rock right? Looks like a red Mithrax crab; basically a red emerald crab.
Your second pic is a pencil urchin. They are said to mow through desirable algae and there are claims of them eating coral also. I tossed the pencil urchins out of my batch but kept the red crabs, they’re fine.

yup. KPA. Okay cool. That’s what I thought but an outside opinion is important

And yeah, the urchin is definitely a pencil. I plan on removing when I transfer things to the 120. Figure it’ll be easier when taking the rock it likes out than upsetting everything in the 53 which is still settling in

so far so good. We’ll see how my crustacean friend behaves.

one good thing is there’s a ton of stuff other than the ricordia to eat.

A pencil urchin the size of a half dollar, tore my rock scape apart one night.

Shocked Oh My God GIF

Okay. You have my attention. Best way to go about removal?
If you see him out, just get a nice grip on him. Or, if you can take the rock he is on out without issues, that is best so he cant retreat. They are very nocturnal, he'll roam lights out.

gotcha. Been worried I’d pull a spike out.

hm. I’ll try and nab him this morning before lights come on. Closer of the LFSs already agreed to take him. And it’s basically on the way to get my other fish and move them here tomorrow
