It’s been a while since I put a build thread together. Rather than provide a master stroke of literary and descriptive wonder, I’m going to be lazy, give some of the goodies, and add as I go along if anyone seems interested. Most of my pics are taken on my iPhone. My wife has a camera and can do a much better job of the picture taking and I’ll get her to provide us some good stuff along the way. For now I take my pics with the halides off and the t5s on and since they’re fairly white my pics tend to be a little green relative to what I see.
Here is my tank:
And here is an older pic showing the stand more clearly:
The current rock and aquascape is fairly new. Less than a year old. Much of the coral is much newer. Some on the other hand go way back.
Here is my purple stylo almost dead in an old tank late December 2013:
And after many ups and downs, today:
I run a Zeovit tank but keep it fairly simple with few additives and lots of food. My light is from a Geissman dual halide fixture and I use the Radion 20k 400w bulbs. It’s lots of light but I like the look.
The whole system comes out to about 210 net gallons with about 180 in the display.
The sump is in a separate room from the tank, I have a BK Mini 180 skimmer in there, and water is circulated with a plain old Eheim. For in tank current I use two SeaSweeps with a Tunze 6095 on one and a 6105 on the other.
Here are some recent pics of things growing in a bit:
There’s some nice frags just coloring up so I’ll update as things begin to get more exciting.
Thanks for looking!
