Okay @fishguy242. I’m having technical difficulties. My 23yr old daughter wanted to hang out with me today, so tank update is moved to tomorrow. These times are few and far between..can’t pass them up :cool::p;Wideyed

We were outside playing with the dog and looking for geckos. We have tiny ones around the house and Kendal has been try to get pics of them. I see something fly into a tree...

It was not a clear shot, but I didn’t want to chance him flying away while I ran to get a better lens. I have never seen one in the wild. They are so majestic looking. I love nature photography. SomedayI’ll have to show some of my better shots I‘ve taken over the years ;Snaphappy

Okay, I’m still typing away, and I don’t want “grasshopper” to lose patience, so I’m starting with some pics. These aren’t great pics. I took them quickly with my phone and are only for a point of reference..

First issue I have is some of my corals have gotten too big for this tank. I know I can frag them, but have no where to put them. My trachy is huge. Ill have to get a pic from the top, because a front view doesn’t do it justice. He’s beautiful ..I can’t imagine fragging him..more to follow

@fishguy242 proof :p;)

Well, better late than never (@fishguy242)...

Latest update...The new stand and plumbing finally came in. I'm hoping by "plumbing," he's including both for the original plumbing that came with the tank and the manifold plumbing. Vermetid snails and bubble algae cover everything in the overflow. No telling what the pipes look like on the inside. LFS said he could clean in citric acid, and it will be like new. New tank, a new stand, and a new manifold. With my luck, something will go wrong with the existing plumping when we take it apart. Now, if I could justify a new sump. I'm not too fond of the v1 sump that came with the tank.

The LFS is supposed to be putting together the stand and building the manifold, so both will be complete when he gets here. If I understand him correctly, the day he brings out the stand and plumbing, we will:

Drain tank & sump. The sump, along with the skimmer, uv light, and mp40's, will need to be cleaned.
Fish will be placed in a separate container.
The corals will be removed from the rock and dipped. I have some corals that are too large for this tank now, and I can't see them fitting into the new setup. My options are to frag pieces to put into a new tank and then put the remaining into a frag tank. I'd have to buy a tank and light. The only other tank I have is 25 gallons.
I can sell the frags, but that doesn't solve my need for a new tank/light. I can't see fragging the trachyphyllia. It's enormous for my tank, but it's so beautiful. What are the chances I'll find someone local to buy it for what it's worth (once I figure that out)?
The LFS can keep them for me until I decide what to do, but then I have to dip them all again.
New sand and rock. As I said in an earlier post, my tank is now overrun with vermetid snails, bubble/hair algae, spaghetti worms, and fireworms. I want to do everything I can from transferring that to the new tank. I'm planning on using new CaribSea Life rock again...I still need to plan out a new scape. I'm replacing the sand with CaribeSea Aragonite Special Grade dry sand. LFS said using the siporax that's in my sump, and some water from the existing tank should be enough to keep the tank from cycling again.

I expected to be farther along in this project than I am. It's been hard to plan when I don't have a definitive date when LFS can come out, and it doesn't matter what the LFS says. I can't see him doing all this in a day. Comments and suggestions welcome!
