I think you won the Sump POTM when it happens!

Can you imagine what else I have planned for the rest of the fish room? :p BUT one thing at a time, I needed the sump first and foremost. And now my mind is switching towards getting the tank wet.

I've said it before, because the sump is in a totally separate room, I wanted it to be fun. It was something I could really enjoy working on or just being around when I'm doing other maintenance tasks on the tank or QT tanks. And I know at the end of the day it's really just a super shiney toilet for the tank, but come on, who doesn't love a super shiney toilet;):p

Dude Josh that thing is crazy! Easily the coolest looking sump I’ve ever seen. Now you’ve inspired me to light my sump. Thanks for the extra project brutha.

Lol!! Thanks man, like I said, TOTALLY worth it now I have it and see it first hand. Being able to work in a brightly lit area makes things SO much easier.

Oh Josh, TOLD YA SO!

Hummm, I'm not sure what you mean ;Headphone

Holy Moly! Amazing is to weak a word for your sump. I doubt I’ll see it’s equal in beauty and function

Thank you!

This was actually something we spent quite a long time working out, having something that looks really nice, but still functions the way it needs to. I think we managed to find a good balance between the two. Only time will tell though!

Ha ha! You'll have to video that.

I just might, but you won't see me dancing in it lol!

You nailed! I will be looking at the pictures over and over in amazement. I have a lot of love for sumps and fuges. It’s the heart of the tank and it’s mates.

I'll be honest... I sat in a chair for an hour staring at it lol I have a lot of love for sumps and fuges as well. And I agree whole-heartedly, they really are the heart and soul of your system.

Does it sync with your tank maintenance soundtrack?

I think I might try and work them into a controller so if somethings off it might show up red....

So, I went and picked up the sump on Thursday, but didn't get a chance to take it out of the crate and have a good look at it. So finally after getting home late lastnight this morning we unpacked it from the crate to play around and check it out. First impression was wow this thing is HUGE and secondly I LOVE IT!!! So much space to work around and lots of room for everything I need to put in it. Thirdly this thing is built like a tank. 3/8" Acrylic on all walls, top and bottom, all joints are daddoed in for a triple sided bond. Everything looks immaculate and is VERY well assembled.

It was such a fun build working with @Elder1945 at Adaptive Reef and I look forward to working with Kyle again on a few more projects down the road.

Filter sock chamber that can be switched out with a filter floss basket...

Skimmer chamber with outlet for reactor pump....

Reactor and return section in the back center, up front will be my frag tank/grow out section, something I needed to incorporate into the sump as I don't have the extra room elsewhere to do so. My plan is to cover the entire bottom with 1" Marine pure plates and place frag rocks over them.

And last but not least, my Fuge section...

Tomorrow I'm going to start plumbing my Closed loop and hopefully leak test sometime in the coming days. :)

You already are aware of my thoughts about your new sump. However, I'll breifly state them again; a simply stunning piece of art that is worth every penny! Congrats on taking delivery after mods and a long wait.
