I used the TMC Eco Reef rock - boxes A and E to give me the scape I really wanted. Can you get the rock where you live or does it have to be imported?

Do you quarantine? or acclimated then direct to the tank?

No I don't quarantine, i don't have the space nor the authorisation (by the wife) to have another tank large enough to hold the number of fish.

I spoke to my LFS and experienced reefers on the subject of QT and as i'm sure you know some are for and against the use of QT. Some say you must QT all fish before going in, others say its a waste of time. Some even said they've QT'd but still ended up with ich and other illnesses down the line. Some have said that QT can actually cause illness, ill effect and even death and wouldn't recommend them. I'm sure people can write essays on the pros and cons of QT.

For this reason i decided against a QT which I completely understand runs a certain risk so don't need to be told that haha. If my tank gets nuked because of an illness caused by poor purchases or just bad luck then i'm sure i'll review my decision.

On a side note, I only buy my fish from my LFS and run UV which I know again has its debates on whether they're worth it or not.

I did fully research the pros and cons on using a QT so this decision wasn't taken lightly.

So, I’ve managed to get my hands on a red lined wrasse and 2x juvenile lineatus fairy wrasses. I’ve paid for them but my LFS is holding on them for the next few weeks as I’ve just added a few fish.

I also bought 9 Dwarf Bali hermits. Never seem them being sold before and don’t get larger than a penny.

They even threw in a free Red Dwarf Holly Favite frag.

Just a quick update, just bought a tiger pistol shrimp for my sulphur watchman and an electric green goniastrea.

I wanted some more strong green colours in the reef

I’m currently looking at some lovely Scollys, Trachys and Lobos and one Acan.

Ok, I may have to be stopped but couldn’t resist buying these beauties. They often get snapped up quickly if you hesitate.

They arrive tomorrow and the fish store is hand delivering them to me, a 6hr drive round trip.

The Trachy (2nd pic) is a large coral.

It’s fish, invert and coral day today, my 2 pyramid butterfly fish, 2 skunk cleaner shrimp and my orange Goni has arrived.

I’m just acclimating them and will attach pics once they’re settled in and the lights are on.

Tomorrow I have 3 new corals arriving as well. It’s been a great week for me with Father’s Day, 7th wedding anniversary and new fish, corals and inverts

The new corals have arrived and settling in nicely. I’ll keep a close eye on my first SPS, where do you guys recommend placing a Hoeksemai Blue Acro. I assume high placement with strong flow.

Lastly, my last two wrasses (leopard wrasses) have been ordered and reserved. They won’t be arriving till mid next week.

So I had to pop into my LFS store earlier to pick up some frozen food and came out with 2 corals (a clove polyp and a large short tentacle fungia plate) and a pair of flame scooter blennies.

Those places are like sweet shops!

I’ll get pics of the corals once settled in.

So I travelled 80 miles to a new fish and coral store earlier and got carried away.

I bought 10 new corals

Cabbage coral
Frogspawn
Goniopora
Sinularia
Caliendrum
Blue Monti
Sunset Monti
Red Plate Monti
Cultured Indo SPS - not sure what this is (pictured if you have any idea)
Cultured Stylo

Luckily I was given 10% discount and my wife wasn’t with me
