While cleaning my tank today I noticed a rather large worm in my sand bed and was wonder what type he was and if he is involved in almost all of my soft coral disappearing?
I will try and upload a video later

no tweezers, if your tank is under 50g.... get everything out. If you break the worm, if will grow a new head. There might even be more than 1. Now if it's just going to be a hassle to remove everything, look into a worm trap and SLOWLY remove the worm.

A worm trap would be the way to go IMO. Even if you catch it, I'd re-bait it an keep it in the tank for a while. Where there's one, there's usually multiple. (Ever notice how that's usually true for bad things, but almost never about good things?)
Theyre so long that they never fully go into the traps and can always get out. Typically they never fully leave their burrow once its made.

You definitely have a bobbit there, best bet it to remove everything. These worms are quite difficult to get out otherwise

I have a 60g which is quite deep also just noticed there might be three or more based on the amount of burrows
Wow. Time to start looking for threads on how people successfully removed them. How long are they? Small-ish ones may stay in a trap. I have heard that putting a piece of pantyhose in the trap gets them stuck, but I have never tried. Sorry man.

Turnd my light to 1% and baited him to show again. Wish I could upload a video but it doesn't work for some reason.

This is why I said SLOWLY remove. Once they have ahold of the worm, you don't want to break it. Full sand bed removal is the way I would go though.
