You c
What tide pools did you find them at?

Years ago you could find thousands and thousands of zoas at one of the boat marinas near Waikiki. Can't remember if it was the one closest to Waikiki or the one a little farther down closer to the down town district where they run some commercial stuff out of.
Maybe go have a look and see if they are still there. Can see them right on the rock that butts up to the side of the walls of the slips. If you could get permission to harvest those you would be in business.

they are toxic , and gorgeous . I counted the double rows of frill and we are waaaaay over 60 per polyp , be careful bro , but super nice run carbon at least.

Pardon my ignorance as I know absolutely nothing about zoas...but is that how you can tell toxicity, by the number of frills around the head?

I guess tonight I will be counting frills on the few different zoa colonies I have now....

Hey, so is it legal to take Zoas in Hawaii? I am on the big island right now and saw some really nice Zoas!! Would I be able to legally take a small amount? I heard they just cannot be on live rock since the rock is not legal to take.
