I would like to have soft coral with SPS.
Ok, I'm going to give this a try.
Let everyone know a little about me. I used to have a 75 gal years ago. Life got in the way so I got out of the hobby.
Now that I am retired, I decided to get back into it, since I did enjoyed it so much. I'm a DIY type person. I like hands on and to save a few bucks when possible.
Doing some research I have noticed how some things have changed.
This build thread is about my 125 T gal.
I'm going to start building my. It is going to be made out of 1 x 4s and 1 x 6s red oak. Joints will be pocket holes with Kreg jig and glued with Titebond III.
Attached is my layout.

Bleach 24-48 hours, then tap water rinse and rinse and rinse, bleach again if you see lots of organics but you probably won't, then acid wash soak for about 15-20 minutes then rinse and rinse and rinse lol then ro di water soak, then salt water soak and start measuring phos. Then use gfo to reduce phos as it will likely be through the roof.
Maybe that is your plan but you do not have to bleach soak a week.
Anyway, that is what I did.

Appreciate your help. Wasn't to sure how long to soak and how often to repeat.
Wasn't planning on acid washing. Not sure how to. I'll look it up to see what is involved.

Nice build. Could be a tutorial: select rock, start curing, Then start working on the mechanics of the system while rock is doing it's thing.
Very well thought out stand too!!
Can't wait for more of this build...

Thanks. Tomorrow planning to drain the water off of the rocks then start soaking them in salt water mixed with Phosphat-E.
Pick up acrylic sheets to make my sump.
