Ok so i just got my new Fiji cube 57 gallon complete set up. My issue is what to do about the refugium. I’m going to get 2 AI Prime HD 16 lights and a VerioS-2 return pump. I have a Tunze ATO from prev tank. Will be using some bio media under the filter floss but after that I have no clue. My first thought was to do a large refugium in the middle chamber with two Tunze ref lights one on top and one under and then get a icecap k2-50 since it will fit in the chamber that should be for the refugium. Any advice would be welcome. Also what else to I need or do your recommend I get. Going to get heaters from BRS since I’ll be getting to just in case. Mixed reef with 5 to 6 fish.

A carbon/gfo reactor would make a good addition. Maybe a C02 scrubber too.

Sorry to ask a stupid question? But what do they do and why do I need them.
A media reactor can run activated carbon ehichimproves water clarity, and/or Granular ferric oxide (GFO) which helps control phosphates. C02 scrubber connects to the airline in your skimmer. Basically absorbs C02 and raises pH.

I would just do a DC skimmer and a dc pump. Vector S2 fits perfectly. Make one a refugium and then you can put a bio brick under the skimmer to sit on with microbactor 7 on the back and balls I am doing filter socks that’s about all I have and I probably won’t run the skimmer for a month or so. I wish I paid someone to install the plumbing though this is 2 days in for the building but I’ve never done plumbing before.
