Hello Reefers,

I'm just getting into the hobby and I recently picked up an Aquatic Life 4 stage RODI system to use in bathroom. I don't need to permanently have it hooked up anywhere since I bought a Nano Max 20 gallon tank. So I've tried to hook up to my Moen sink with hidden aerator and the adapter that the RODI doesn't work. Went to home depot tried a couple of adapter and no dice. I'm getting a little frustrated and would like to know if anyone has accomplished this with a Moen sink and exactly what type of adapter(s) they used to make this work. Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.

I believe the size of that will fit the sink will be a male (M21.5X1.5). Since this is the size of the special tool I picked up to remove the aerator. Thanks.

I can’t help specifically but I will say that Moen is famous for incompatible, proprietary parts.

I agree with the poster who suggested to hook it up under the sink. Or possibly in a laundry room if possible?

Sounds like you may need something like this:

3/8"x3/8"x1/4" shut of valve on Amazon

Or

Installed between the shut off valve under your sink and the water line going to your Moen faucet. Then, you can hook up your RODI to the 1/4" tee, which also has a convenient shut off.

That fitting is exactly what's recommended. You probably don't need 10, but how about just 1 (called an "undersink shut off valve on this page)?

Hi Fish,

I bought and connected under my sink with 3/8"x3/8"x1/4" shut of valve on Amazon. The cold water is coming out of the sink and 1/4 tubing (that runs into the RODI system). This is with valve open. If valve is closed then only cold water comes out of the sink.

I thought that when I opened up the valve it would only come out of the 1/4 tubing not also the sink at the same time.

Did I connect this thing right???

Thanks in advance...
