This algae keeps popping up in my tank! I also have some GHA, but this stuff keeps coming back! Been doing water changes to bring nutrients down as they were a bit high (still high but much better) nitrates are currently 15 phos is .14 (currently treating with reef flux so phos has gone up again, had gotten it to .08 before reef flux) before starting the reef flux I was doing weekly large water changes, scrubbing everything, manually removing but it just keeps coming back! Not sure on ID so don’t know what else to do!

potentially bryopsis, but not sure. Pretty hard for turf or gha. I think reeflux would take care of that. Hope others chime in to help as well.

Its hair and bryopsis. Not impossible to stop but quite the battle. First pull what you can by hand - More the better.
Then using a dental pick or small crochet needle, pull off the roots. YOU MUST remove roots or it will keep coming back.
You can then reduce white light intensity . Add cleaners to finish cleanup such as Emerald crabs (which I do not trust, LG astrea snails. chiton snails, Pitho crabs, and pin cushion urchins.
IF you CANT get to all the roots, although I do not favor use of - Fluconasal (FLUX) will work. After

Thanks, that’s what I was thinking it was but I wasn’t sure. Been battling it for months. I’ve scrubbed everything multiple times and it always comes back. I did do a reef flux treatment 4 days ago so hopefully it helps. I’ve also ordered extra clean up crew!
