am liking the suggestions you are getting from K. Steven and Graybeard. I have never used the 8020 system for a stand. I am about to use it to make a CNC router for Stone and Quartz processing however...wish me luck.

I usually get all my stuff imported. I refresh you I'm from Asia. I got this one from Singapore. I wish you all the success for your endeavors.

Man I'ma fan of yours.. That's some slick stuff. However that's not what I'm looking for. You know the trend these days. I don't know what they call it. But the aquarium sits right on to the edge of panel so the door stays flush beneath it. However it's difficult to attain that because of various variables. Likely that aquarium is to made in floating bottom fashion, so I can't risk vertical panes overhang with no solid support. Second I'll be using some thick panes. So I have to either miter the joints of the panels or miter all the edges of top panel where the aquarium would sit. So that it gives an illusion that the edge of aquarium is flush. Hope that makes sense.
You're awesome, I would thieve your stand if I have an opportunity lol...

Hey cromag08 I build lots of cabinets from acrylic to Corian to some new materials in the testing phase. But I have not used an aluminium 8020 system for a stand. So I remain silent on the best method for magnet use.

I was just giving him a hard time. :D

That's some sick stuff... Appreciate it

Thanks! It took 6 weeks of constant changing and adding things. I even spend alot of time and money doing the top laminate which at the end I decided to not use because I felt too many pressure points. I also began the project using a very thin vaneer (less than 1/4") which wouldnt hold its shape. If anyone can get some ideas from this I am happy since I really had to figure this out on my own!
