Hey guys newb here, It’s only at the base of my Duncan and nowhere else and where it’s missing tissue. More visible under all blues, doesn’t blow off but scrapes off easily. Wanted an expert/pro opinion maybe @vetteguy53081 could offer some insight before I proceed with the h202 dip/ toothbrush. I did just rid my tank of Dinos(nutrients bottomed out due to media I was chasing numbers lesson learned)

Could it be coralline algae?
Originally I thought the same but seems to disappear or lose its color without light and it scratches off easily. Reason I think it’s bacteria is because there’s a tiny bit of exposed skeleton on my Duncan where it seems to be growing. It’s a film not a hard encrusted growth

Looks like something called foraminifera which looks like cyano but firm. While harmless removal requires scraping it off. i will say, under the right light it glows

I’m running just blues and violet at same intensity. Part of my anti Dino regime. I’m gonna start adding reds and greens again since I have macros in there just didn’t want this to take off when I do. It scrapes off fairly easy. Would h2o2 be a hammer to my solution? Too harsh?

Update: they’re producing gas as there are bubbles forming now does foraminifera do this?

Yes and peroxide won’t have much impact
