Hi everyone, as with many we are new to Reef Aquariums. Just noticed this hitchhiker on my newer Zoas and wondering if anyone can help ID. Also are they bad ? Thanks

Fan worm. They are generally harmless but can become a nuisance if they get out of control. They will multiply and die off based on available nutrients for them to feed on. They are passive filter feeders.

Just moved to new home and had my 18 month old reef tank broken down and reset back up. That being said, the rock structure was completely rearranged and this evening I noticed 2 long flat white tentacle looking objects coming out of one of my rocks and then detached in the current about an hour later. Any clue what this could be? Harmless?

Are you sure that isn't superglue from the rescaping?

Maybe mucus from a coral; doesn't look like a "viable" organism. When my cabbage leathers shed I sometimes see something similar.

Assume already filtered out of your tank by now

Very commonly found amongst zoa, looks like a hydroid to me. Looks like a tube worm but hydroid pattern. If you give it a gentle burst with a turkey baster, hydroid will remain whereas tube worm will retract.
Tube worm uses fan to capture food and is not actually a duster
