need new salt

my reef crystals have been giving me problems this few weeks with hight calcium in my ref i do not dose i do top off my tank every day and put in level before water change
this are the salts i am looking at
aquaforest sea salt
aquaforest reef salt
red sea salt the blue bucket
thats all i can afford a the the moment

live stock mianly soft corals few peaces of lps corals not much

You could mix your reef crystals with instant ocean. 5 parts reef crystals to 1 part instant ocean. Brings calcium and Alk down. Also very cost effective. Magnesium is low so you would need to add some.

Yes iT Will .. if you research Each you Will see what Each salt mixes at .. if you have a lot of corals en sps then you might want too go with a salt that mixes high in alk Calc mag .. we could argue all night which is the best .. its a personal thing with factors like mentioned earlier and things like cost .. try one .. see how Your tank does and you can always change brands later by doing regular wc with the new salt ..

+1 Red Sea Blue Bucket. Mixes perfect with my perameters and my tank which is a mixed reef sps.

I like red sea blue bucket and am currently using fritz rpm. The fritz is a little cheaper, with slightly higher alk. My tank has never looked better so I may stick with it. Been using fritz for 6 months. Used blue bucket before that.

If you are looking for a salt mix closer to natural sea water check out Salinity by Aquavitro (its the boutique seachem line) each bucket comes with seachem's and a 3rd party labs analysis printed right on the side. Most every batch I mix up comes to:

alk 8.5ish
cal 420-440
mag 1300 or so

been using it for about a year and a half now. very happy

Almost any salt mix will work well. You just need to be aware of the pros and cons of whatever one you elect.

I've read hundreds of thousands of posts, and I cannot recall ever seeing a case where someone had a mediocre tank because they picked the "wrong" salt mix.

There is also hardly any evidence that the salt mix matters.

For every person who says they made some switch and it was an improvement, there is usually someone saying the same thing about the opposite switch.
