I bought a wild colony acropora from my LFS the other day. I thought I had dipped it and gone threw it carefully to not get any unwanted pest in my reef. Last night I saw this weird this under the rock the colony came on. Can someone please tell me what this is? If its bad or good? I tryied to pick it out using tweezers but with no success. Its rock hard, brown in color and seems to have a mouth or two.

Hard to tell from pic but if it’s rock hard it maybe some type of coral like a cup coral. Any tentacles come out of the holes? Looks sorta like a tunicate but they are more softish like a sponge.

I am trying to ID something that looks like it may be something similar that is attached to the base of our Lobo! It almost looks like barnacles but it has multiple holes with small clesr tentacles protruding. If it moved I might think nudibranch from the shape but this one has me stumped!

Then it is a tunicate. They are are harmless filter feeders. They shouldn’t cause any problems for your corals. Also it really depends on how much feeding you are giving. I notice that the tunicates in mine gradually disappear as time goes by as i barely feed my tank.
