Hi everyone,

Newbie here. I am ready to get my first tank set up and have decided to also set up a sump. I already have a bunch of equipment, I just need the tank. I have tried drilling two different tanks myself, and unfortunately, I quickly discovered they were both made of tempered glass. :/

Can someone tell me how I should go about getting a tank drilled? My local LFS doesn’t do it.

Thanks for your help!

Shannon

Best bet for having a tank drilled, if you're uncomfortable doing it yourself, is contact a local glass shop. Most of the ones I deal with have pretty reasonable fees for machining or drilling glass, and at least you know they have the experience and tools to do it properly.
