First batch of water tomorrow at the new place. This 30 minute install took 3 hours, because we don’t have an in house water shut off (that I can find) and the outside shut off is full of mud. So I had to get a little creative. No leaks, no worries.

22 PPM TDS in, and 51psi of pressure. Not bad! That’ll let me use the 2:1 restrictor, which I feel better about.
That is pretty good in my book.

Ever mention how much I HATE diy sometimes?

so, using 3” sleeve anchors to hang my wall mount sink in the concrete wall of the new fishroom

get holes drilled, cleaned out, assemble the hanger, start tapping the bolts in with the hammer. Get half way- 1.5”- and TWO of the bolt heads snap clean off. Wasn’t even wailing on them or anything- they are supposed to drop in with a little resistance. So I have to disassemble, cut the old bolts out and tap the remaining parts into the wall, drill more holes, switch to the second pack of bolts- 1 of 4 snaps off. So now I have 3 bolts working, hang the sink, and now it sits 3” higher than I planned. Glad I didn’t install the drain first. But now I also need to buy a sink downspout extension because otherwise I’ll have a drain line running 25” above the floor, instead of 18 where I need it to be in order to keep to code for the required drop/length.

uugghh

but now I have a sink hanging and hopefully I’ll have water (minus drain) running tonight. Finish the drain tomorrow, after picking up the new piece

Thanks.
I’m a little lackadaisical at the thought of building out ANOTHER fishroom, but this is a nice space and allows me to do a couple things differently. Bigger water system (will be needed to support the 400g if that ever happens- but also useful for when I transfer to AWC) and the hot water exchanger off the boiler will be so much easier to plumb.

I’m excited, but not a whole lot of free time, so hiccups like today just frustrate me like crazy

Got an hour while the girls napped- got my sink in, full hot and cold, 1.5” drain which I stubbed out to a studio vent after the trap. Plan is to run the 6’ 1.5” pvc off cut to the far wall, drop down to 1” and wrap it around the back of the fishroom and into the QT area. Then have 3 vertical standpipes that will be used as drains for water changes etc. all I have to do is drop one end of a siphon hose into the tank, other end into the standpipe and I don’t have to lug buckets or run a line across the floor to the sink

what do you plan to do with the 180?
Moving it to my new place.

it’ll be in the dining room with a BIG 13x20 fishroom directly underneath... until we can remove a load bearing wall to open up the living room and kitchen, then I’m upgrading to a 400g 9x3x2 peninsula in about a year
