New 33 g long Frag tank

Here is my newest tank i am setting up.
33 long
asm mini skimmer
20 g sump with fuge
2 54 w t5's
cc sand mix

red scralets
clown gobie
yellow tail damsel
ORA Black clown (nursing back to health from main tank, someone was picking on his tail.)

it's going to be a frag tank but with show quality. I am getting pipe fish for this tank.

both my tanks run t5s. I can stay enough about them. I have tried all kinds of bulbs and ended up with a mix of URI and Giesemann. No shimmer but i can live with it.

running them on a IC? or what type of ballasts?

on the main tank 2 are on IC 430
3 are on what ever ballast comes with a retro tek lighting.

on the frag tank 2 are on what ever ballast comes with the tek lighting again. i can check when i get home.

they might be sunlight supply ballast.

Nice frag tank you got going there!

I'm lookin' at setting up a 55g w/T5's frag tank. There is a big price difference between a 4 x 54w TEK fixture and an IceCap 4 x 54w retro kit. Could you tell a big difference between an IceCap run bulbs and TEK?

I don't see any differences but i am sure some else might say that the IC over drives them more. I am very happy with the Tek stuff. Sorry i am not more help.

think of it as a 12" tall 55

yes it is only 12 inches tall and 48 inches long. it's a nice shallow tank. I made the stand really tall so i don't have to bend over to see in the tank.
