Hey all. Got this blue face juv angel a week ago. I noticed shes got fading colors. Is she sick?? All other fish are fine. Ammonia 0 nitrite 0 and nitrate trace amounts. Other fish are purple, blue, and bristletooth tangs, saddleback butterfly and a niger trigger. @vetteguy53081 and @Jay Hemdal p

Pomacanthus angel juveniles blanch/pale when they have a parasitic skin infection. It could be ich, but more likely it is flukes.

Is the fish still eating well?
Did the paleness come on over days or more suddenly?
Is the fish breathing fast?

She is eating well. She isnt breathing fast and is active. And yes very suddenly. Last night she had a tiny patch which I thought she scrapped or something then I cans home from work and noticed how bad it was

It could be a secondary bacterial infection, but I’m thinking flukes.
Prazipro dosed twice, 8 days apart with good aeration may work, but sometimes the flukes return.

Okay I have to get prazipro from amazon, LFS doesnt carry it. It will be here June 7th. Is there anything else I can do for her until then?

Yeah, flukes or velvet but likely flukes. Often a 5 minute freshwater dip the same temperature as display tank will offer temporary relief but no need to consider this step Unless the arrival of PraziPro will be prolonged.
When you get the Prazi, to be safe , dose at 80% of recommended and apply initial dosage known as an interval for 8 days, do a water change and do one more 8 day dose interval
Use airstone with prazi as it does reduce both oxygen and appetite

As mentioned, a 5 minute FW dip can buy you some time, but don't do that unless you can catch the fish without causing unduedamage to it.
