Guess I'll have to get some silicone grease. It's 9 here. Most things are closed already. I may have some electrical di-Electric grease. I'll read ingredients.

Doh. It's right in the instructions.

I think di-Electric is the the same as silicone grease. I'll try it

Well, I coated twice. Still leaking. Ughh
inspect the o-ring for any slice or abnormality and also the threads for any dings or rough edge.

First thing I did when I opened up. Maybe just a manufacturer defect? It's also just hanging by the intake manifold. I'm sure that doesn't help. Gravity is literally working against it's seal.

For what it's worth, when I got my reactor in, the volute was broken during shipping. I sent a photo to Avast and they shipped me a new piece instantly. Their customer service was excellent when I worked with them.

After tonight's conversation, I think I'll fill mine up with water tomorrow and give it a leak test!

Yeah because I can't tell if it's leaking from the mounted intake housing or the pump adaptor. Sucks. I sent him a message through R2R. Hopefully I'll hear from them tomorrow.

I was gonna recommend. Because it SUCKS after you get it all hooked up. Had my wired and hoses all nice and neat. Now it's a rats nest. Lol

BTw. I didn't come on here to bash the product. I was genuinely looking to see if anyone else ran into this and could get me up and running after operating hours. It usually works. There is ALWAYS someone on this forum with an answer. I know they have a great reputation.

If you message them through their web site they usually get back to you pretty quickly.

He's sending out a new Oring. Had an email first thing this morning. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. It's been sitting on the floor with Reborn in it since December. Maybe the O-ring dried out. I could see how that would be possible.

Does this reactor use a regular pump or a needle-wheel pump?

Great question! We actually tested it with nw and regular impeller. Since we already use a NW version of this pump on our ozone reactor it would have made inventory a little simpler. In the end we found it ran a little quieter with the regular impeller and they performed the same so in the end that's what we went with.

Thanks @AVAST Marine new O-ring did the trick. 5 hours and no leak.! Thanks everyone who helped.

Setup question. For everyone.

effluent 15.2 dkh
PH 6.7ish
50mL per min

Does the dkh seem low? I used 50/50 effluent/RO. 7.6 x 2 = 15.2 Hanna.

What adjustments should I make?
