Just picked up this redsea reefer450 for a steal of 500$ from a local guy getting out. Came with tank, plumbing, sump, and stand. Will be transferring over my current 80g shallow but changing scape of course. Chasing lights to reef breeders is the plan.

It's a nice tank. I have had one since 2018 and really like it. I would suggest looking into the RS reefer mega threads on some of the plumbing mods. The only mod I did to mine was swap the original overflow valve for a gate valve. (I think I posted in my build thread about it). I also ditched the wide overflow tube that sets over the main overflow pipe that supposedly silences it... I found it to make it louder!

The guy I got my tank from had just spent 300$ on new plumbing for it. Most of which you said was done looks really nice. I’m in the process of moving as well so it will be a month or so before this bad boy sees water

Nice! What equipment are you thinking of using?
Since gallon is almost the same as current set up (new system is about 10g bigger). I’ll be using same return pump and wave marker I’m currently using, maybe add another wave marker since this tank is longer. Plan on a 48” reefbreeder for light instead of the current viparspectra lights. Think I might finally add an apex system but I like to keep things simple.

Nice, I used 1 MP40 at 90% and it did well for a lower to medium flow tank with a few hot spots for high flow, but 2 MP4s does well too but leaves a few low spots with some really high spots. If you go SPS, you may need more down the line (I used 2 MP40s and a larger gyre, but went back to 2 MP40s when I got rid of most of my SPS)

some pumps really fall off after 4 feet so additional flow might be needed.

This tank has a nice foot print while having only 92 gallons in the DT.
