Ok so i got the ro/di rack mounted and all filters put in. I have the holding tanks all pressure washed and plumbed up ready to hold water. The 1/4” lines are almost done, I just need a few more fittings and I’ll be ready to start making water.

I’m still waiting on the acrylic to come back from the laser/ CNC. Once that’s done and put together I can get the tank plumbed.

I also decided to go a little different with my lighting. Rather than building a light rack I’m doing a hybrid fixture. I have a 60” aquatic life 4 bulb t5 fixture coming. I’m still running 3 radion xr30 pro’s in the hybrid fixture. As for t5 bulbs I’m going to run 2 blue plus, purple plus, and a true actinic.

I purchase pvc board to put on bottom of the tank. I am still going to do sand but if it gets bare at all the white pvc will help to camouflage it. I also got the plywood needed to get the stand extension done. I’m going to use the pvc board for the top of the stand figuring it will hold up better for my work area.

A few other random items have arrived and I’ll be worked in as time going on. The mp40 extensions, float switches, ATO pumps, bulbs and other fittings. It’s taking a while but I feel is going to be great in the end.

——and yes still only one red bucket——

It is looking so sweet and OCD compliant that I need a curse word for the appropriate adjective.

Ok so I received the aquatic life fixture and I’m presently surprised with it. Super easy to put together and very clean look. Got it all installed and fired up the xr30’s for the first time. Looks great even without the t5’s. I’m just waiting for the t5 bulbs to come in then lighting will be complete. Light for now is 12” off top of tank, but could change for par needs.

As nice as the fixture is, the hanging kit needed to have some fabrication work done. The cable that linked the two sides was way too long. I cut it in half drilled out the slide mounts for the two cables to fit down and used the loop lock it cane with to connect them. Was a bit tricky but I figured it out and turned out awesome.

I need to get the two fans mounted in top of hood then it will be complete. Still waiting on the acrylic for sump. Some stuff cane in for ro/di but it’s not quite complete yet. New wetside for mp40 cane in.

T5 bulbs in place. Color and par (I know I don’t have water) are on point! Can’t wait to get water in this thing! I’m going to be removing the rocks and putting pvc board down inside and redoing the rock work. I really was not happy with it from beginning.

I got the ro/ di system working perfectly now. I flushed the system for about 30 then let it run and made 13 ish gallons of water....0 tds water! Very happy with how it turned out and functions.

I have not sent any water through the lines to the fish room. Soon enough I’ll be making water for real and sending it to fill the tanks. I heard from the acrylic guy today and he is going to be working on it all tomorrow and should have it done by beginning of week. Once I get that done I should be able to plumb and do a few more little finishing touches.

So I had my tank built in 2008 and it was running for about 3 years. My daughter was diagnosed with leukemia and I had no time to maintain the system. The display tank is 67”x 26”x 25” tall. I’m building a custom sump and ATO out of acrylic, all color matched white, clear, and blue. The dims on it will be 47”x 18”x 16” tall. ATO tank will be 10”x 18”x 16” tall. Water volume for DT is 189 gallons, sump will be 59g, and the ATO is 12.5g. Stand and canopy are completely custom and stained a darker cherry oak. The doors on the canopy have been changed to open out instead of down. Wire channel will be added to make the underside neat and clean.

I will be running carbon/ gfo through custom reactors that will color match sump. A U/V sterilizer will also be ran. For return pump I have an ecotech L1. For flow in the tank I’ll be running 2 or 3 ecotech mp40wqd’s. I have a hurricone cat1 skimmer. I’ll have a kalk stirrer run in line with ATO. More than likely after the tank gets stocked I’ll have to start dosing 2 part. Not sure as of now if I’m going to run a refugium, didn’t before with excellent results.

Lighting I’m going with 4 xr30g4 pro’s. I have multiple 4” ac infinity fans in the canopy for cooling. I’ll be running an apex controller to be able to monitor the tank while away at work as well as having automated controlled features.

With having my new house built I’m able to do some custom feature for my fish room. Any suggestions you all may have are more than welcome!! I’m going to have the tank in wall to be seen from both rooms. I’m going to have a floor drain near the tank. I’m going to run RO tubing from mixing station in garage. I’m going to run an exhaust fan through the wall and vent outside. I will more than likely be running a separate frag and fish quarantine systems.

Here are some pics of the initial build.

Do you happen to know if the hybrid mount will fit AI Sol blues? It does not say in the product description. I know our lights are older.
