nice build so far. Are you medicating any of your quarantine fish as a precaution?

Copper at 1.75 - 2 for now and monitor, if I see any ick, flukes, velvet, or bacteria infections I’ll treat as needed with prazipro, furan2, metroplex, formalin, freshwater dips.

So the rest of the fish came in this past Friday. Copper as of yesterday is up to 1.89 so the timer started! Right now i have yellow tang, orange shoulder, sailfin, purple dottyback, and six line.

So the 19th the fish come out of qt and are looking great!! What will be going in is an orange shoulder, yellow tang, purple dottyback, sailfin tang, and six line.

On another note the display tank has finally settled in and looks amazing. Water is so clear doesn’t look like anything is in it. I am installing the conduit next weekend for the internet so I will finally be able to get everything programmed and setup properly!! While I have the trenching machine I’m going to get the floor drain pipe ran outside and installed to the catch basin box.

Also will be talking with my buddy to try and setup a date to get to the acrylic place and get my stuff cut. After the sump is done I will plumbing the frag tank in with the display. I have broke down the display for now and all the coral was put in the display.

I’m considering running a chiller in line because the temp has been a bit of a challenge with t5’s running. I need to get the vent fan figured out as it isn’t working as I planned. Sounds weird but I need a smaller fan to fit right over the exhaust pipe vs the 6” fan. The box I built is actually working against me causing the air to blow back in vs exhausting outside.

Looking great!

Can you post a pic with your light set up? Maybe we can give some suggestions on cooling to help you avoid having to run a chiller.

It’s a led t5 hybrid. My hood has 2 sets of fans both blowing in and the one exit fan blowing out threw vent pipe running outside. I did have Leds on for 10 hrs and t5’s on 8. Now t5’s on for 5 and is better.

It’s hard to see the exit vent fan but it’s up top back of hood

Light fixture consists of 3 radion g3 pros’s, and 4 80 watt t5’s.

Is it possible for you to install fans to the panel which the lights hang on? Fans that would be mounted and pull the air out of the lighted area? I've done this previously using 120mm computer fans with a decent amount of cfm.

There is an exhaust pipe already that is vented to the outside. I put that in when i built the house. The problem is that the fan is too big.... sound weird but it makes sense. The fan box is too small for that 6” fan that’s there so it works against itself and doesn’t exhaust the rather it forces it back in. I need to reconfigure that box/ fan combo.

Ok, I got it now. Sounds like either the box/outside line needs to be larger to accommodate the amount of air the 6" is trying to pushing through it or a smaller fan.

So a few things happened today, first thing is fish came out of qt!! They have all acclimated nicely, and the clowns have welcomed them with open arms!! Everyone is eating and exploring and most importantly disease free!! Second is I finally was able to get the floor drain plumbed outside. I was waiting to do it when I rented the trencher for the conduit for internet which will soon be going in!!! I’m sitting here in my daughters bean bag chair I front of the tank just loving it!!!

Once the internet gets connected I will be able to get all the apex programming complete and running properly! That will be amazing as for now I have been using the display for controlling the system....kind of a pain scrolling through all the modules to get where I need to be.

wow. that was an amazing 30 pages I just read. This is awesome!!

Thank you, I’m glad your following along!! It’s getting there I’ll probably be getting another batch of fish In qt within a couple weeks. Next willl be an Achilles, blond naso, and maybe a couple smaller fish. Don’t want to do too many with the Achilles. The less stress the better.

Do you have any good resources for fish QT procedures? I live in a city with no fish stores, so I'll be ordering everything and want to set up a solid fish and coral quarantine.

I’ll be honest an all in one tank with a skimmer is your best bet. I run copper and if I see anything that needs future meds I’ll add it.
