Here is the layout of the new sump/ ATO. also how it will fit under the stand using a cardboard template. Here is a pic of my acrylic stash made up of all different sizes and colors. There is a pic of everything i have purchased thus far for my build and stored under the stand.

Well the rest of my stuff is here at the house. I’m working on the drain hole now and getting the stand prepped for the tank to go on. Here is the stand in its spot. Hope to have the tank and hood on it tonight and have the inside of the stand repainted.

What paint did you use on the inside of your stand?

How long is your QT process?

I go 14 days in copper. If I see any thing else wrong with the fish while in that period I treat accordingly. 14 days is long enough to kill an ick lifecycle. There may still be eggs but if they hatch they will die in the copper. The eggs don’t stick to fish.

Thank you very much I tried to take my time and figure out exactly what I wanted to do with this build. Even thinking out everything and going over it to her three times after doing it I have changed a couple things. I feel like it will always kind of be a work in progress as the time and technology change I will be upgrading and updating the system. I want the best life possible for all the livestock that I have.

The paint that I used was a gloss white paint and primer in one. Nothing fancy but not the cheapest. People of used external paints thinking they’re more waterproof, but external paints technically just don’t dry all the way and are pliable. This will result in your equipment or anything that you have sitting in one spot for a period of time to stick to the pain. Ask me how I know that… I did it in the past lol.

So i ordered this online booster fan to hopefully resolve the heat issue and move some air from under the hood to the exterior of the house. Cheap enough that if it doesn’t work oh well.

Also within the next week or two I should have the acrylic cut for the sump! And within the next month I’ll have the internet hooked up, I’m just waiting for them to run the wire and connect to the house! All apex will be programmed fully at that point!! Super excited about that.

And some coral has been added to the tank and all look to be doing well with full polyp extension. That means I should be getting the good camera out soon for some shots of the reef! I’ll be setting up for progression pics.

Ok so fan was installed and seems to be pulling a ton of air! Fish came out of qt today and seem to be doing well acclimating with the others. They are very pretty and have my last two big fish in qt now. After will be smaller wrasses, blenny, anthias then fish will be done and the qt tank will no longer be an eye sore in the fish room!! New fish in qt now are Achilles tang, and white tail bristle tooth. They are so pretty!!!!!!

On another note the coral is doing amazing. All sps are coloring up Nicky with full polyp extension as well as the zoas and euphyllia. I’m super happy with how this build is going and cannot wait to see its progression!!!

So i added a couple fittings to the floor drain grate. 5/8’s barb fitting, and an 1/4” ro tubing bulk head. When I do finally get the sump done and installed I think this will clean up that part it really well. Also makes it easy now for water changes in qt tank. Run a gravity line from tank to the barb.

All fish are in and doing very. Seems all are getting along so far. I have been having an issue with cloudy water and I can only attribute it to bacterial blooms. I have since hooked up and have the U.V. sterilizer running. We shall see how well it worked along with skimmer the waste out.

Hooked up the uv and it has been running for almost 48 hrs. Well water is so much clearer!! All fish are looking happy and getting along! Bacteria bloom was so bad I could not even see the power heads looking down the tank.

Coming along nicely!

thanks, ya it’s moving right along! The bacterial bloom was getting me on edge. Hated the way my tank looked and needed to get something done so uv! I was waiting to hook it up till the sump was done but who knows when that’s going to be. Nutrients are pretty close to where I want them and it shows in the coral. Colors are looking good and getting nice growth. I will take some Macro shots with the Nikon once the water is fully cleared up!
