It's no secret that we grow all of our corals under Kessils. We believe the new A160WE - now 40w from the previous 30w A150 model, added with the functionality of the A360WE of controllability - is now a great option for nano owners.

Is this actually for sale or is it a pre-order sale?

Would you suggest 2 x 160s or 1 x 360 over a 40b frag tank?

Now that's just annoying. Why couldn't they have done that to the 150w in the FIRST place? Now, if I want to use the controller, which I've considered greatly, I have to replace my current 150 that I've not had for less than a year. I'm so tired of this nonsense from these companies. Sorry, I don't mean to vent. I'm just extremely frustrated. :sorry: :smash:

Ordered :). Thanks Kenny!

My understanding is most of the first production run went to the UK. These are going to be scarce stateside for awhile. I'd grab one fast. I'm pretty sure this is the first retailer to be selling these online. I have been watching very very closely the last few weeks.

How does it look at 100 Percent Blue and 0 Percent White?

I want to get them but only if they will look like the A150 Deep Ocean Blue 20K Actinic Model or the A350 (Both of these Lights look very very Blue - The way that I want it).

I have seen the original A360 and at 100 Blue and O White it looks Purple Not Blue.

And the newest A360 W-E Looks even worse (White in my Opinion).

How does the New A160 Look?

Here is my understand about blues on 350 and 360 models

350- two separate channels for blue and white so if you turn off white completely then 100% on blues only means blue lights so very blue look.

360- they had their emphasis more on temperature kelvin and par readings than blue and white. So when you put color at 0 percent (which is all blue) and go on increasing the intensity up until about 70% or so it so into blue but as you increase more they actually turn on some white LEDs so as to keep up with the par.

So essentially 0% color and 70% intensity looks just as blue as the 350. If you need more par then whites come into picture is how it goes.

You're right. We take the A360we with me to shows and with 100% blue and intensity compared to the other lights they are indeed not as blue as them, but they are bright. Everyone still appreciated the color and intensity very much and gotten praises for the way our corals looked under them. Also, we light all the LPS and softies under 100% blue and they have been growing very well. The only exception is when it's photo taking time I needed a fuller spectrum to get the color right so I would turn the white to about 65-75% range. The recent in-tank video we posted was shot under such a setting.

Interesting.

I never heard that.

What would you recommend for a mixed reef 24x24x18 cube? 1 x a360we or 2 x 160we? I thought the a360we but now thinking 2 x a160 to help with shadowing but want to make sure I have enough to grow things on the sand if I do go with the 160. Either option will be controlled by an Apex.

If shadowing is your main concern 2x a160. You can try having them at an angle toward the middle as well if you are using the gooseneck clamp.
