I had fresh water setups as a kid, moved away went to college, got married, bought a house and wanted an aquarium. Wife bought me an acrylic 40 gallon tank for Christmas 15 years ago and I decided I wanted a reef tank. Well after slowly acquiring some equipment, I soon realized I was not in a financial place to setup a reef tank "the right way" and everything went into a box in the garage.

Fast forward to now, and after visiting my oldest son in college, we went into a pet store and they had some saltwater setups. I instantly had the urge to make that reef tank and am starting over with a build. Man oh man, technology in the reef tank setups has really moved forward in 15 years.

Anyway, going to be surfing for info and asking too many questions I am sure. i am the type of person that researches, researches some more, makes a decision, then change my mind and research some more before making a purchase.

I spent HOURS reading this forum before I even bought the tank and was really glad I spent the time to do so. It helped me get a leg up on basic knowledge and avoid many of the common mistakes first timers make. I can't say enough about this community and the R2R staff.

Quick question(s):
Where is the best place to start a thread for me to start asking questions as well as to document my build? Separate or same threads?

Thanks

Starting a build thread is the best way in my opinion. There is a link in my signature below.
